you can skip that amp, it's only good to use when out & about, i.e. battery back up time is more.
SQ is very far from amp8 and most def., very very far from amp9...

I don't care about battery time at all.
I'm using the dap at home.
The battery time I'm getting with AR-M2 is ridiculous too but I don't mind.
Hmm. Will have to get amp9 before getting the amp8 modded I guess.

I was considering selling the Amp8ex i bought (and maybe the Dignis case also - as i would bling bling it about less...) as i am using the DX300 w/Amp11mark2 more often.

But a few sessions the last couple of days reminded me of the amp8EX appeal and i find it hard to part with.

From the SQ Point of View the 220 can hold on its own.
Comparing to the 300, the biggest advantage are non sonic attributes:
1. back up time
2. UI
@ the end of the day, they are all 2 different flavours, but both it reference class tuning

Each time that I see the 300 and I compare with the 220 I think, damn, we are having hifi music capable cellphones xDDD The size is amazing and even I would say that It can be treated as a multimedia device focused on music, that's for sure but with this screen you can watch sporadically some videos

Btw, what about the battery life? Compared with the 220 on a normal use, nothing special you know (for each one that can have both and put their impressions)

i have a/b’d:

- DX220 amp8EX and amp11mark1

- amp11mark1 and amp11mark2

- but not DX220/amp8EX and amp11mark2 yet....soon. Might include the amp11mark1 (again) as it has been a while and to complete the circle.

Its an easy 8 hours for DX300 with Wifi on, Streaming, screen on, etc..

my record for music offline only, wifi off, mango player, seldom see screen, Double touch off, volume 35-40, Filter no. 2, Mid Gain, 320 ohm Earbud, Majority 16bit flac, can reach up to 18 hours, with 8% battery Digital left & 0% AMP Battery. Based on my exp.

So to drain 1 cycle of battery take quite an effort... hahaha

The 8 hours with full load its real, and yes it can get hot too, in this state...
