Having just picked up a set of DK2001 which are terrific has made me wonder what the DK-4001 are like. Does anyone want to share there opinion on these please?
I have not heard the DK-4001 (nor the 3001 Pro), so I can't comment on those, but congrats on your new shiny!Having just picked up a set of DK2001 which are terrific has made me wonder what the DK-4001 are like. Does anyone want to share there opinion on these please?
I still love mine and use them in my weekly rotation... What color option were you able to get? Mine are the mint green ones. Also, while the cable is just fantastic, I put a pure copper cable on them to help with the boosted 3k(ish) region, which is a little bit hot for my ears. I ended up using the DUW-02 cable on my iBasso IT-07, which pairs perfectly to my ears.
I have the DK-4001 and have owned them for 4-5 years. I still like them and listen to them regularly and don't think I will ever part with them. That said, i don't think I would pay 900 usd for them today. You can get many very good iems for a very good price today.Having just picked up a set of DK2001 which are terrific has made me wonder what the DK-4001 are like. The DK-4001 is a highly technical iem, very good detail and decent soundstage. Quality low end, i would give the bass 8 out of 10. Mids are meh... Compared to SA6 the overall tuning is not very good. Highs are sparkly without being too sparkly. So basically a V shaped iem. With the right music they are very good. I know them well so I know which music to choose.

From what I have read, the DK2001 are the most versatile of the line because while they may not have the technicalities of the DK3001 Pro and the DK4001, they have a fun factor that keep them from being boring, while remaining analytical enough and detailed to be able to do some critical listening at the same time. For me these were winners when they were still around. I have not found them outside of AE, so they are probably slipping into the "hard to find" category at this point.

Oh wow, blast from the past with this conversation. The 2/3/4001 releases were when I was first exposed to the brand myself.
@CartrKellr is a resident 3001 Pro user here and may be able comment on them as well.

Thanks for including us in your travels! Hope you are enjoying the trip.
The SA6 is my go-to IEM now. For the price, the performance is outstanding. It is also good for mixing and monitoring purpose. Not to mention that they are built and looking good.
I gave my pair to my friend @Zoe Moff for those reasons - true all rounder for music and *ahem* studio, no pun intended.

Revisited the Dunu Zen Pro today, but this time I ran them off of the Cayin C9.
I can only think of one adjective: breathtaking.
I previously ran the Zen Pro out of the Lotoo PAW 6000 but the C9 takes it to another level entirely. It's an experience that I think every Zen Pro owner should try once at least.

I've been using the DK3001s for a while now and they're by far my favorite IEM in my collection. A nice clean balance and super present low-end. I've gotten a couple chances with the DK2001s, and both times I felt like the high-end was a bit much for me, but only slightly! The series itself is phenomenal. If they were easier to find, id be recommending them all day.Outstanding...!

The DK3001pro is a great IEM. Very well balanced sound and good resolution. Can listen to them for hours as they just disappear and let the music flow.

Thanks both!
I have to agree with the upper mids being a bit strong on the DK2001, though the high-end itself is not fatiguing for me; however, conditioning takes care of this for the most part (for my ears, and I am super sensitive to this area).I've been using the DK3001s for a while now and they're by far my favorite IEM in my collection. I think that all three in the line were very popular and well liked while they were in production, so if you can still find any of them, I would also recommend them all day long. You CAN still get all three from AE BTW. The DK2001 came with the lovely DUW-02 (OG) cable w/just the 3.5mm SE connector, the DK3001 Pro came with the Lyre cable w/4 connectors (2.5mm B, 4.4mm B, 3.5mm B, & 3.5mm SE); at some point I think it got switched out with the DUW-03 cable w/same connectors, and the DK4001 came with the Furutech cable w/4 connectors (2.5mm B, 4.4mm B, 3.5mm B, & 3.5mm SE).
