Thank you. Maybe i should order the original ones (Fostex EX-EP-61) but they are very expensive :weary:
I´ve found an old pair lambskin/pleather pads which seems identicall to the ones which E-MU is now using.

They sound great. Maybe give them a try.

I edited the post after comparing original D2000 (right) vs V-Mota pads. D2000 pads has a hole width 4 cm, V-Mota 3 cm. Overal V-Mota pads are thicker, have more bass and upper mids.

In search of the original sound.
I often bought pads hoping to get the original sound, but it is was useless, for D2000 and D7000 the authentic sound could not be returned. Even replacing the plastic damping rings did not give complete satisfaction with the sound.
And I decided to make original pads. As donors, I used foam rubber and damping rings from the old original pads and new pads from V-Mota. I cut threads and removed foam and damping ring from V-Mota pads and inserted the originals. I sewed a ring with threads using old holes and at the end I glued the fabric! Then I compared sound with my new pair Denon D2000. The sound is the same.
The whole work took about 3 hours. Attached a photo below. Maybe this will help someone. The main things here is not to throw away the old shabby original pads and have a little time for changing process.

@RuslanG
Awesome job! It´s very difficult to find original pads even when you buy a used D2000.
I´ve read a lot of good things about the orignal pads from the Fostex TH610.

But they are not cheap :weary:

Fostex 610 pads have good reviews, probably the closest sounding, but not the same as original, because they are thinner (will be less bass) and smaller in diameter (will be more upper mids and treble).

I'll have to look into replacement pads for mine because those Foster are definitely way more than I expected to spend... but anyone have any solutions on how to replace the headband? The fake leather is flaking off really badly now.
You can try this one: ebay (seller: studiomate)
The pictures are misleading because the inner diameter is a little bit smaler but they still sound great with a D2000 and D5000.
According to the seller they are original from Denon. I dont think so (maybe for the new iterations D5200 ...? The back looks like the original ones)

(edit: another in my opinion better and cheaper alternative are these. From different Amazon sellers like Ciglow, Hakeeta...)

As headband i would suggest one from Beyerdynamic or a knockoff. They fit realy well (DT770, Custom or HS800 which is real leather but very difficult to get anymore. Ask Beyerdynamic for help.)

measurements (but not to take too seriously - i´ve done three measurements each with my DIY rig. In the shown picture you see the average of each pad)

My D2000 headband is also flaking really bad. And one ear cup has detached haha.

For headbands, you can look into Foster branded ones as well...they're not particularly cheap, but they're a 1 to 1 drop in replacement for the D2000/5000/7000.

I replaced my D7000 a few years ago with the Foster one (I think it was meant for the TH900).
