One more question about the xiaomi headphones 2. Have you tried the stock cable or everyone uses a custom one? That y split seem to be stupidly close to the neck, shorter than on an earbud. Any opinion? I don't have other compatible cable so I'd be stuck using the stock one
I haven't tried using aftermarket cables, but I find the stock cable is quite good. Tangle free, supple, the Y split is indeed quite high up actually, it doesn't choke the neck but is very near the my neck (I'm average build). I suspect bigger sized folks or those with bigger heads may get strangled.
I don't have measuring gear to see the resistances of this stock cable, but maybe Slater can advise.

Thanks! I'm about 188cm this is why I'm a bit worried I guess I have to try. I already lost the bigger coupon but I still able to buy it around 36.5usd. Are there any suitable replacement cables on aliexpress, just in case? All I could find were either mmcx or other earbud-related connection.

I'm searching for aftermarket cables too for this set, didn't manage to find any cheap ones, most of them were going at $30 - 40ish during the sales, which is the same price as the Xiaomi HIFI, so I gave them a miss. Maybe the rest can advise.

Any cable that fits the 1More H1707 triple driver over ear, also fits the Xiaomi HiFi.
Many H1707 owners have used cables made for Sennheiser HD700, Audioquest Nighthawk, Oppo PM2, HiFiMan HE models with 2.5mm jack (such as HE4xx etc), and Sol Republic Master Tracks (HD V8 V10 V12 X3).

Thanks! I found a lot of cheap cables by searching "sol cable" on aliexpress. So even these extra cheap ones are suitable? That would be great, less than 3usd for a fully functional backup cable.. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000207049813.html

Yes, I meant whether they are compatible in terms of connectors. These are cheap diy earphone cables basically, I have the first and second one for earbuds in soldered variation. The middle one is the same as the cable of Faaeal Rosemary/Snow lotus earbuds just with 2.5mm connectors. Better than choosing between nothing vs more expensive than the headphone itself. I'll keep looking, but this is good news already.

Well, the reason for the hesitation is that the 2.5mm socket on the Xiaomi and 1More H1707 is very specific in diameter (6.0mm) and length. Not just any old 2.5mm plug will work, due to the way the socket is recessed and it’s diameter.
Forr example, if you look at the 2.5mm jacks I used for my mmcx adapters, you’ll see that they are very long and have a specific shoulder diameterThis was because the regular 2.5mm jacks I used didn’t fit.
Supposedly, the Sol Republic has a similarly specific size of 2.5mm socket. That’s why it’s reported that any cable for Sol Republics also fit. But since I don’t personally own or have ever see a Sol Republic or a Sol Republic cable, I can only tell you what other have reported.
BTW, I also posted the pinouts here if anyone is interested:

Thanks again! I ordered the headphones and really hope it will work out well for me. I have relatively small ears so hopefully the stock pads will be perfect. I'll post impressions when I get it
I was thinking about getting a CAL! for a long time but the cheap build quality and lack of folding always kept me from trying that (also it's 1.5x price locally than xiaomi) Do you think the xiaomi sounds better than that?
I do own both CAL and Mi Hifi... Just from a memory I can tell that CAL has slightly warmer and a bit bassier signature compared to Xiaomi. It's basically a "miniature version" of headphones from Denon AH-DXXXX/Fostex TH-XX/etc.-series. I did a quick comparison between them after I received Xiaomi and I don't think Xiaomi is far from Aurvana Live (which sounded a bit better to me overall). Xiaomi is definitely build better but I found CAL much more comfortable to wear even though the downside is that they lack quite a bit of isolation compared to Mi Hifi. CAL is definitely worth trying, I think it's still my favourite cheap headphone (it costs around $60 here where I live).

Thanks! If I have a chance I'll definitely try it out In my country it's also around 60usd equivalent but relatively rare. For now if the comfort is right, I'll be happy with the sturdier build + foldable design of the mi for 2/3 price. I've seen some earpad swaps in the aliexpress feedback, maybe it's possible to put the pro80 or similar earpad on it, that has larger opening. I'll definitely share my impressions, hopefully it arrives in 3-4 weeks..
