Its a demo unit at Romi. They removed line out to add a switch so customers could select between several different mods and decide which they wanted to have done on theirs.

I think they are upto 3 different levels of mod on the N6ii, also several mods on the M11. I was going to mod my M11 amp Fiio besection but Fiio bet me to it with the Pro  I'd just wait to see what AM02 brings rather than getting a mod on the AM01, probably cheaper too.

Any nice case for the N6ii? The supplied one looks quite dated. Also, am I the only one who hates the screen protector? It's a fingerprint magnet and also doesn't sit well over the edges.

I don't use screen protectors any more on my phones or DAP's, naked all the way for me now. The protectors don't fit well, its a side effect of the curved at the edges screens we have now. I predict a "feature" we will all pay more money for in the future will be "new totally flat screen". :)

I asked Andrew from Musicteck about the next motherboard for the N6ii and he says that Cayin should have information about it out soon.

I’ve received the new screen protector from my local distributor. It’s rather disappointing because from tempered glass, it has now been replaced with film type by Cayin. I’m sure many people will feel the bad aftertaste....anyway, Cayin should remake the DAP with a flat screen, or customise a tempered glass protector.

I can’t even bear to change the glass screen protector out and replace it with a miserable film...I’m staring at the N6ii wondering what to do.....

So my player seems to have suddenly bricked itself. I've been listening to music all morning and suddenly it just went dead. It's totally black, hasn't been responding to being plugged in, powered on or anything...seems totally dead. Has this ever happened to anyone? Possible solutions?

Had something similar, but only once. Resolved it by holding down the power button for 30 seconds, which seemed to trigger a hard reboot. No issues since. Keep us informed!

I just finished doing exactly that (though I held down the power and play buttons) and the system rebooted. Everything's peachy now. It's probably a software issue, which can be worked out. Thankful it's not a hardware issue. Back to enjoying this amazing player with my Z1R.
