I'm not familiar with those 2 apps but I had a try to download.
I am able to output from these 2 apps. Max sample rate I get is 176.4 kHz

Thanks Andy,

Seems you got me wrong. I am very happy with the i5 (not so with the case though). By no means I want to return it. I am patient enough to wait for things to be sorted out.

However, where I (personally) do not agree is to classify gapless as a low priority item.

I agree, gapless playback is a pretty big deal for me. especially in a quality mid-fi DAP. 
 
My dx80 does it very well. I kinda expected the i5 to have it already implemented.
