I think the W3000ANVs are the best closed headphones I've heard and fantastic cans! But no question, I'd take the LCD-3s any day of the week.

Like SoupRKnowva above,I would have thought a comparison should be made between the  W3000ANVs and the Fostex(or other 'closed' types).Personally,I couldn't use either-hate the 'sea-shell' effect!

With hps of this calibre I doubt the "sea-shell" effect would be an issue.

I have question to LCD3 owners, could you hear a differences between good quality mp3 320kps & other lossless format? If yes, how big is the differences?

With a DAC and AMP that's up to the task, the LCD-2s and especially the LCD-3s are able to detect a difference pretty quickly to my ears.

Thanks but I meant the difference between 320 mp3 and lossless. Can you hear artifacting and if so on what tracks? I'd like to check it out on my iems.

I don't listen to mp3s much but LCD3s can tell you much more about the compression done at source(recording studio). If high compression is applied during the production process, regardless of the digital format, no cans can rectify that. MP3 will make the things worse with dropping whatever is left from the dynamics of the recording.
