  They make some surprisingly nice gear, I'm happy with them, and the customer service is excellent. Right now, I've been testing the LCD-2's on the XPA-200, and they are a great pairing. However, I'm most likely going to do what M-13 did and get a Mini-X. If the Mini-X performs like the XPA-200, I doubt I'll be able to find a "headphone" amp anywhere near as good with the LCD-2 as it is for even double the price (plus it's on sale!).

Definitely. I expect it to sound very similar, but with a quieter noise floor. The extra power I get over the Mini-X certainly isn't getting used.

TL;DR, if you have the stock unbalanced cable, you can make a converter out of a Switchcraft 1230 (female 1/4") and some 24/22 gauge wire. Attach left to left, right to right, and ground to one of the two ground (black) speaker taps. This works because the amp is a common ground amp.

You turn on the bluetooth on the LCD-2 and pair it with the mini-X

I just got the new ear pads that I bought for my old Rev. 1 LCD-2 (although there never was a revision 1 exactly...). Anyway, comfort is clearly a step up from the old pads

That depends on you. They're certainly good enough to compete with other headphones in the same price bracket. However, it depends on whether you like its sonic signature, and whether spending this kind of cash on a headphone is worth it to you.

The 20% discount is tempting and I have not tried this kind of headphone at all. I'm quite happy w/ my HD650 but I'm really curious to find out if this is something that could take my audio experience to a higher level.

Don't worry about it bro.. about 99% of all LCD-2 owners paid full price. I guess times change and Audez'e has black fridays deals now. Next year I'll be looking for deals on the LCD-3 or LCD-X (hopefully...)

the lcd-2 isn't as comfortable at hd 650 but imo, it is the next level
