Is it normal for audeze to create a flapping sound when you press the headphones against the ears while wearing them. I think when i press the headphones it does create vacuum. But i wasnt expecting this to happen in the first place. I picked up my LCD 2F from the recent adorama sale and i am happy with it.

Can someone confirm if this flapping sound is normal.

I don't want to freak you out, but mine started doing that and then about a month or two later one of the drivers failed. After I got it repaired, it doesn't do that anymore.

I hope yours don't fail, but don't freak out when they do, just get them fixed.

For what it's worth, I get a sort of "wrapping paper" crinkle sound when I press both my LCD2 and my Oppo PM3 against my head. Not super hard mind you. Since pressing while listening to music made the sound but didn't warp the song in any way, I didn't pay it much mind.

I am within the return window. So getting a replacement. Thank you everyone. Will post how the new one turns out to be.

The bamboo hoops tend not to crack vs the Caribbean Rosewood right ?
I can't remember seeing bamboo LCD-2s cracking ?

It's not scientific but i've seen Bamboo used as scaffolding in Hong Kong.

Very strong material.

@CanadianMaestro I have the late 2015 revision model that includes Fazors. I had to look up your reference to cookies and FYI, I'm terrible at making cookies. They say great cookies are the ones made with generosity and love, but all I can afford is averice and spite.

...cookies as in "Mr. Christie, you make..."  Old commercial, probably before your time

I've read mixed things about fazor models. Some love them, others...well. One thing's clear, a good amp is mandatory to squeeze the last sonic ounce out of LCD's.

Bamboo composite is made of laminated strips of bamboo that are glued and pressed together to make a very strong and water resistant material. The cups are then cut from that. There is a small chance of wear over time, but not much.

The Rosewood cups are made from a solid chunk of rosewood, same as the other wood cups, then they seal them like any other piece of wood, so you have to treat it like a hardwood deck basically. Just like hardwood floors, direct sunlight and lack of treatment can cause them to crack.

I had no issues with detail retrieval on LCD-2.2.  I haven't heard the fazors, though.

Same here, with the exception that I have 2.1's.

I think the details are very much there, but the smooth upper mids and lower treble don't bring them to the front like an HD800 etc. (probably a big boost @ 6k might do that ;)). The highs are much better at resolution than my HD6x0-series hp's, imo. A drumset sounds like you were right there listening to it. The spatial cues are very believable on top of that natural kind of FR.

Same here with the 2.2.
Details are there but without emphasis, just where they should be.
Even  in the bass department, you can hear details and layers that other can't easily reproduce.
So it makes them sound very natural, full.and without fatigue.

Well, my LCD-2.2f has been gone for awhile now, but Audeze FINALLY got back with me about my frequency graph about a week ago or so.  Seriously, they are great when you get a hold of them, but they take forever to respond to emails.  3 weeks at least for every email I've sent them.

Anyways, here it is.  January 2016 build.

Sub bass is definitely there.  What do you guys think?  I miss them every so often, but vocals just sounded off to me.
