and thank you IryxBRO for the review, I skimmed it well right before I went over to Kickstarter.

You welcome! I am very glad that someone reads it, at least :)

Will it run hd6xx better thatn fiio e12 or fiio x3?

No, it won't. In terms of power X3 has 270mW @ 32Ohms and e12 even more than that. AP80 have 80mW @ 32Ohms thus having less driving ability for higher loads. But those are the numbers and the quality of sound is not totally depended only of the output power. Hidizs has got other DAPs and external headphone amps&dacs for such heaphones: AP200, Sonata DH1000, Serenade iDSD which sound great.

I'm very interested on AP80 to use as transport for a Mojo and Q5, but i have a question:

- can the AP80 receive audio signal via BT APT-X fom my phone (lg g6) and then out it to USB-c / Mojo ? I really want to know if bidirectional BT can work's that way...
Thanks!

I might be wrong but it seems that this is too complicated... Usually it is forwarded from bluetooth to analog audio output...

Some more information on gestures in AP80:

1. Swipe down at any screen = drop down menu with Bluetooth, Lineout, USB mode, Gain

2. Swipe up at any screen = drop up menu with Brightness, Play (pause, skip tracks), Volume

3. Swipe right at any screen = back

Can you guys confirm the following?

2. Ap200 interface/CPU was rather slow--this uses a stronger chip for noticeably better speed.

3. Make sure the SD card slot fully differentiates which direction the card is inserted. I've "joked" about it in a couple posts, but I truly did get the included AP200's 32gb mSD card apparently stuck in the device as there was no obvious 'direction information' for insertion. Help...Is there a process where i remove that card?

2. AP200 was rather slow - yes. Initial FW was slower than it is now. If using AP200 in pure music mode with the current FW - it is normal. AP80 has the same CPU as in AP60II and AP60Pro that has already been tested with HibyOS FW and everything is fluid. AP80 seems to work even faster...

3. AP80 has the icon (look at my review and pics) that clearly shows how microSD card should be inserted.

@Franklin You can make it work with BT but without the APT-X. The reason we can't do it with the APT-X is because we haven't got the software authorization yet! But it might be possible in the future! As our software is HiBy OS, the R3 will have this feature with the upcoming update this week! So the AP80 will benefit from it and will also have this feature! :D

very good news @kenloveme ! but for the first launch (Nov as stated on kickstarter), Ap80 will support at least AAC on BT? For me is enough for now (i'm current using AAC throught BT on Fiio Q5 and can't hear any difference from APT-X). :L3000:

Thank you!

Hey Ken,
Didn't you just tell me that APTX would work both receiving and sending? But LDAC and maybe APTX-HD were pending? Now I'm very confused as Hidizs and HiBy have been stating APTx for over a year now on multiple devices. Now you're saying its not yet "authorized"? Seems to me if the Ap80 can act as a Bluetooth Aptx receiver that what @Franklin is asking should be easy to do. If you don't have authorization for Aptx, Does the AP200 or AP60II, AP60 Pro have APTx? Or are they also waiting for authorization?

Actually Hope that you can get LDAC and APTX-HD working in both send and receive modes on all the HIDIZS Devices ! As they have much better sound quality than Ordinary Bluetooth and Ordinary APTx ! :L3000:

(Know that Apple Folks would like ACC, and Airplay for Bluetooth too.)

Wow, lots of hype and excitement in this thread :D I guess will be sharing my impressions and comparisons once AP80 arrives... I'm especially curious about ES9218P DAC implementation since it has headphone amplifier built-in, so in theory I wouldn't expect too much difference in sound between AP80, M0, or LG V30 phone, all of which utilize this DAC/amp. In terms of the design ergonomics, I expect those who are having a hard time with a small display of M0 to be happier here. Gotta admit, from the pictures AP80 looks sharp.

How does this compare to the pioneer xdp-02u hiby r3 spec wise, which has better dacs, amps? Does the ap80 have wifi?

I will also be reviewing AP80 soon

Very very soon :)
George - will you compare it to M0?
I have and love it, but:
- It is actually too small (and my hands are not very big...)
- I really miss podcast and audiobook support :( unfortunately, no sign of it here, too...

@xuyiguanyinsi Thanks a lot! We are also super proud on how fast we raised up to $63,000 USD so far in less than 3h! with more than 500+ backers! THANK YOU GUYS! :D

Man that was quick, faster then the ap200 I think. Congrats!
