I just got a pair of the normal K702 and now I know what the fuss is all about. I like them...
...but, there is some bass missing.
I started to listen to jazz and everything sounded quite good. I then put some Bob Marley and Buffalo Soldier sounded like it was coming from some old AM radio.
A while back I remember reading in this thread that the bass on a K702 can improve by switching to the 65th Anniversary pads. Is it a great improvement (in the bass) or just a little better? Is it worth it or should I just try a different headphone (I need an open can for home use)? The sub-bass on the K702 is there, and the quality is excellent...I just need a little more bass for stuff like Bob Marley and rock. I have the K550s and the bass on that model is perfect...If I can get the bass somewhere in between the K702 and the K550 I would be a happy camper.
I might not be able to get the Annie bass, but would I get more bass with the Annie pads? If so, how much more are we talking about? Noticeably more...or an increase that might just be the result of wishful thinking or an active imagination?

having swapped the pads from the normal models to the Annie pads, they sounded 99% like the Annie. Im pretty sure the difference was a slight headohone to headphone variation.
That's a new box as well, looks in line with the new K712 and K612. Still I don't understand they still continue on with the K702, the K712 is supposed to replace it.
