Well you are the master of the Sextett guide, so I knew it wouldn't fool you. The dude got them custom made, but hey maybe it could fool someone. This is a "prototype" made for the Predident of AKG treated with magic dust for extra musicality.

I'm in CA so that will involve packing & shipping ... a hassle. Thanks for the offer.

For now I'll just have to rely on the tone controls and hopefully the NOS will match the 'used' pair in a few months. Age and lack of usage may have caused the driver diaphragms to become stiff.

Haha, I just don't use it enough!!!!! Heck I even recable'd it to a SPC 4pin XLR Hardwired for balanced did a pad swap to and yes it's very much AKG x Grado

But Over time my 240M won me over, slightly more comfortable and slightly more accommodating for TV watching

Though the biggest issue I'm selling them is I don't have my NFB10ES2 any more and I've NO 4pin output solid states atm. I HATED how they sounded on Tubes and I've no decently powerful solid states around to even enjoy them <.<

NFB10ES2 x 240Sextett was such a nice combo, that unit was a little dark with some nice powerful bass. Which I took for granted once it left

The Sextetts are the ONLY headphone I own that I prefer on SS vs. tubes...its weird.
Well,and my X1,but that doesnt count cuz its 100% on PS4 gaming duty.

Well I like my 240M on SS as well, but yea right! I'm a predominant tube-o-phile who use to actually SWEAR by balanced solid state lol. How time's have changed!

Still my New Tube amp has a convenient 4pin XLR out so I'm hoping it'll play nice with the 240M though I will say my buyer is international and I really respect his desire and tenaciousness. I feel he's going to enjoy them MUCH much more than I will,

Indeed I do. It has a very similar forward mid like the Sextett...and fast too,but not very comfortable.

My Sextett LP adores my Kenwood amp but didn't really care for my Yamaha or Akai, my (now sold) K340 was flawless with my old Darkvoice 3322 (criminally underated and undersold amp). AKG headphones are all weird and distinct in what they like to be driven by.

Have you ever pad swapped on the Sextetts? I know there is a sheepskin 240 pad, along with Beyer real leather pads, pleather pads, velours (770V, not 990V), Dekonietc etc...I really liked the Shure 1540s on the LP, fixes comfort issue and just sounded good to me
