From what I understand, the 1697ti should be identical to the 1695ti. The gold version was a test platform for the pentaconn ear connector and the myrinx composite driver, hence the limited run & availability. It was re-released in silver to fit in better with the rest of the lineup.

And you're correct with the 1677 being more agressive at the top and bottom end compared to the 1697. And like I mentioned before, the 1697 displays more balance & finesse, and won't capture your attention like the 1677 or 1657 does.

Requesting more impressions on the HS1657cu.

This is the Bass model of the 3. 57, 77, 97. Not only Bass, Voices & mids in general are good on this pair.
Main advantage of the acoustunes, small shells...

Interested in doing the same, can you explain a little about the order process and the sound differences?
Because of covid, I currently live in Asia instead of North America, and my local dealer offers this service. All I have to do is provide them with the earphone as well as the ear impression. I did not change the internal wiring (if you don't know, this is an optional paid service). The first impression I got was more clarity in the mid and high frequencies, and a slight improvement in the low end. Also, because of the part that goes into the ear is shorter, the sound insulation performance is lower than other custom earphones, but the comfort level is higher.

Without any authorized reseller in EU or North America, getting a custom version is next to impossible. I've contacted aiuto(acoustune parent company) before, and they said service through their website is open to japanese residents only.

There will be some amount of commitment involved. But if you like, you could use this service.

i used them for my Christmas 2020 shopping for a japanese site, only local purchases possible. i used them as well in the past (c.2017)
you can send them query mail re: how-to, since this will include receive (from you) and pick-up/delivery (by them) in your behalf...

I'm new to Accoustune and decided to take a punt and got a set of HS1657CU earphones from eBay and have to say I'm impressed so far. The build is something that stands out, they seem to be very solid and look great. There isn't much with regards to reviews on the HS1657CU's which I find quite surprising, anyone had any experience on this model?
