Circuitcity is having a 9.99 sale on all their CDs. Just bought a bunch of Enigma CDs. These usually go for $13 plus.

Panasonic has a bunch of MP3 CD players. But for whatever reason the company decided to strip away the line out and made the anti-shock feature nondefeatable on all North American models. Herein lies the reason why it's being neglected.

It's never a good thing to mask the background noise by turning up the volume. You run into the danger of not being aware of turning up the volume too high, and suffer hearing damage.

For teenagers, a lack of output power might be a good thing. Since teenagers in general tend to listen to music at ear blasting levels. Your child maybe different though.

Imported electronics are actually cheaper here in the U.S. and Canada. On the other hand, CDs and DVDs are definitely cheaper there. You go to Shanghai for the FOOD! Not electronics... Oh, I can't wait to get my hands on those shao-long-tong-bao again!
