    Whats wrong with Country Music?

Almost forgot: Quote: Originally posted by Rempert Ahhh, only on an audiophile forum would people say that the reason nobody likes country is because it is too much like pop. Country is localized, at least culturally, and it's hard to stand listening long enough to develop a taste...

    Whats wrong with Country Music?

I'm a huge country fan. There are a few good tunes on the country stations now, but if you really want to get the good stuff, you have to dig a little deeper (and in many cases, older). That's with any genre now days though, besides classical, I guess. :/ Anyways.... Alabama The Charlie...

    J-pop fans. Curious.

Besides the music, there is a nitche of American culture that truely wishes they were Japanese. That could be where some of the hype comes from as well. Not saying any of you are that (I don't know any of you). -Chad

A lot of bass and a lot of highs?

To each their own but....the midrange is so important. Why wouldn't you want to match it with the bass and treble? Bloated bass gets annoying and bloated treble gives me a headache. -Chad

    Headphones vs. Speakers

So what draws you guys to headphones if you feel speakers out perform headphones? I love my home audio system and listen to it all the time, but there is something that draws me to headphones while I work at the computer or lay in bed. Now, I'm new to serious headphone listening, all my new...

How much classical music is out there?

While I realize you simply meant this to be a light/fun discussion, I find that I don't really understand or find true beauty in a classical peice untill I have listened to it multiple times. The first time you listen, its tough to grasp everything. So, while you might be able to listen to...

    Bad recordings/production done on purpose?

I have had the best luck with classical recordings. It's listener demand too. In classical and genres like it, listeners tend to be more critical listeners. Regards, -Chad

I was pleasantly surprised when my Beyerdynamic DT831's arrived today. I was not expecting them till tomorrow. This is my first "serious" pair of headphones I have owned. I would first like to thank you guys for helping me decide on these headphones. This place is a great resource. Beyond even...

What is with car audio guys?!?

Quote: oh yeah, the Kappa Perfect 12 is probably the best sub avaliable commonly I love my Kappa Perfect 12. It's very musical, but if you do what to blast it, it's enough to make your heart pound without a hint of distortion. But, installation is the key. It took me a long time to...

What is with car audio guys?!?

We are in agreement. My statement simply meant that the frequency can still sound, regardless of the small area. How well, is a different story. -Chad

What is with car audio guys?!?

Actually, you would be amazed how bass is able to reinforce itself in closed areas. The problem is a lot of that sound is reflected and doesn't sound good, but the frequency can sound. -Chad

    MINT working!

I should look into using wall-warts made for electric guitar effects and such. I use Boss wall-warts for my guitar effects pedels and get no ripple out of them. If I use a typicall wall-wart, it's hummin' as long as its on. Go to the nearest Guitar Center and pick one up. I bet that will...

Wohooo! My stax system arrived today!

That is a pity you say they look and feel cheap. You would think for that price tag they would be well made. Fit and finish, to me, is very important with headphones. I mean, a speaker just sits and is rarely touched...but headphones are handled each time they are used. Any reports on how they...

Search SACD, CD, Audio DVD player

Make sure you demo before you buy with those unless you buy from a place with a good return policy. The "many-format" players that have been coming out have been pretty dissapointing. Some play SACD nicely and then murder playing CDs or what not. Make sure you try all the different formats...
