I have also had the same problem with the new walkman. Won't play via streaming apps when plugged in the rear USB but works on the micro port on the side. The walkman native app works fine on all. I will check my firmware version and see if its still on the 1.0.0 version.

Yep its great for when the walkman is out of reach or I am too lazy to stretch, sometimes its sooo far. Its a very petit little thing, disappears down the back of the couch quite often.

I too would be interested in this. The M7 is a bit of a bargain IEM, but when I demo'd it with my PHA-3 I found it a bit flat and lacking in dynamics. But the PHA-3 is totally different in its internals to the M2.

The product roll out maybe a bit slower but I cant see Sony walking away from their well established and quite loyal customer base. I for one have been doing my bit to support their fairly over priced but solid headphone products and get great enjoyment from them!

No different from what I have seen. Still heavily dependent on what features are enabled and in use on the unit. For me battery life is a non issue as I don't listen for hours on end and a power point is never too far away.

I am pretty late to theTAZ party but also feel very fortunate to have one and enjoy using it. Even tho I have the 1AM2 walkman I still nearly always go to the TAZ for an at home session. I enjoy both products very much.

I have run into connection issues with the M2 when connecting it to a Sony TAZ. There is no digital out to the rear USB-B port when streaming from Apps. Or it could be a TAZ issue? My iPad Pro streams fine to this port tho. Any other TAZ owners tried to stream to the TAZ rear port with the M2...

My Australian delivered went through no problem. Seems a bit less laggy? Apple Music seems to be more responsive.

Thanks for the info psikey, its so hard to demo where I live so most purchases are a based from others experience which is risky with sound gear. But then I love all my gear so everyone can’t be too far off what I like! I will keep and eye out for a good second hand set locally.

How are you finding the IER-M9 with WM2? I am keen to update my old XBA-H2, so won’t take much to improve on those! I think the M9 might be a good middle ground from mine to a Z1R.

I really like the M9’s from what I read, I have tried the M7 and was a bit underwhelmed with them even compared to my old XBA-H2. Just for reference I have dedicated my MDR-Z7 to the WM2 and run them at around 70-75 low gain for most listening. Been having a great time with this combo.
