Not the best way to put it in the title, but nonetheless, here we go: I think it would be wise for there to be a new forum sitting near the top of the page, advertising "New members post here", or "Got a question?" With the influx of new members, there are going to be a lot of questions...- jgonino

AKG K701. So good, I sold my DX1000's
I have been grooving through the late hours with my DX1000's for the last few weeks, and I must day they sound really good. I had never heard such a tremendous soundstage from a closed headphone. I had never heard the K701 for a long period of time, let alone with a good amp and source, so I...- jgonino

I found a cheap 1/4 inch adapter solution, nd it will not stress the jacks!
I was looking for a cheap way to use my giant 1/4 inch adapter with my computer, without stressing out the jacks. So I looked for both the Sennheiser and the Grado adapters, but I did not want to spend a lot of money. One day was using my iphone with my ultrasones, and I plugged the 1/4 inch...- jgonino

Original Post: Fixed.I just got all of my new gear yesterday, and while I am impressed with the sound overall, I can hear a pretty loud humming when I have headphones plugged into the amp, even with music playing sometimes. So I found this old turntable in my basement...
It's a Hitachi HT-40S Direct-drive turntable. Is it any good? I see that where there should be a cartridge, there is some wires. I assume i could get a replacement? Also, it has RCA's coming out of the back, but I am unsure how to connect it to anything. Does it need a phono stage? (and on...- jgonino

CDP as source, or transport?
I currently have a sony DVD player being used as a transport to my DAC. I am wondering if I would be better off selling the two, and getting a dedicated CDP with line-out instead. I am looking at around $200 to spend on one, but less is always good.- jgonino

Audiocubes raises headphone Prices?
I think this is the correct forum, seeing as it is all about headphones. Audiocubes seems to have rasied almost all of their headphone prices. The DX1000 is now $949, the AD700 is now $150, the A700 is $160. The D5000 is now $600? Weird, I guess the market is willing to pay more...- jgonino
