Apple music is not updating the library hence not playing music directly from m30. when connected through usb its playing through apple music .

I think u have hear a difference with your source technically its different but as u hear it's different but with my library it sounds amazing with all kinds music .I brought wa33 for my abyss phi tc but this is only Amp and player which could drive in full potential for my abyss but it couldn't...

M8 is a better source than smartphone or laptop .iam driving my abyss phi tc with m30 it sounds fantastic at 79 percentage volume amazing bass response and soundstage

Connection with USB to m8 is not stable I have to toggle with USB with other like outputs to get a connection

He1000 v1 sounds amazing out of m30 and m8 but software issues like USB connection with a source is poor

I have Dave +hms and woo audio wa33 and m8 +m30 I find m30 more musical

Stax 009 connected toWES 2 generation amplifier with audio quest water rca cables to Dave and HMS to Dave with nordost blue heaven bnc cables.

Soundstage on he1000se improves with Dave and HMS it has better width and dept than stax 009 .I have not heard abyss cannot comment. Adding external amp to Dave and HMS you will loose the transparency however good the amp or headphone is.
