Susvara arrived and burning in.
Funnily tonality-wise I like it more out of M30s XLR-out on Turbo gain than on the 16Watts Flux-FA10 connected in PRe-Amp mode so far even though I know it's underpowered
Have never been in Turbo mode so far with M30.
I can recognise that Transistor mode is a good amount louder than Bypass or Tube.
Using Transistor mode as it seems to have also a larger stage and more body with the Susvara (maybe due to more power at that very top end of amplification)
Forzaaudio speaker tap for my new ROKSAN K3 loudspeaker power amp is coming tomorrow.
Let's see how that one will pair with Susvara and M30...

Funnily I liked the M30 headphone out ports the most compared to anything I plugged into the preamp so far still
Hopefully my new stereo power amp will have a good synergy
Otherwise a new Shanling power amp module might still be the best synergy option...

Amazing, so that means M30 is a very fine piece in order to drive Susvara this wayFunnily I liked the M30 headphone out ports the most compared to anything I plugged into the preamp so far still

Am still burning in but yes, without having heard other top amps besides my relativily cheap Flux FA-10 I say it sounds decent.Amazing, so that means M30 is a very fine piece in order to drive Susvara this way
I heard before (I think from the headphone auditions Amsterdam) that M30 is the only known "DAP" that can drive the Susvara - though possibly not to its full potential but come on I am currently listening in Turbo Gain, Transistor mode at volume level 50 to 60 maximum and there's still room to turn the wheel...
As it's a quite hot discussion in Susvara thread that loudspeaker amps are the best price-performance ratio, I am curious what the Roksan K3 pairing will bring but after all its also about tonality synergy!
And while people have to find the right melange the DAPs already have the right mixture of DAC and AMP, that's an experience I am making over and over again...
I will report again how it goes...

who is interested, here my first impressions about the M30-Roksan-K3-poweramp-pairing - my new go-to-setup, also read what @bigbeans and I were writing about the M30 pairing directly, quite an achievement imho to have a DAP driving the Susvaras

No issues installing the firmware update here. Tried out apple music lossless via the app built into the m30 and it seems to be working correctly! I also tried mirroring for the first time. I did notice a brief dropout or two in playback of the first track with apple music near the start of the track, then it was ok afterwards. I still generally prefer to use my pc as usb source for the m30 with the matrix usb pci-express card installed in my desktop pc

Just for interest as I am a pure Macuser: how does Windows10 handle the Apple Music hires lossless sample rates? No issues installing the firmware update here. Will it switch between the rates and reflect this on M30 status screen or keep one static rate?
PS: if you are not familiar with the MacOS behaviour:
In MacOS you can only set one system-wide sample rate, which is then used no matter which rate is set in the app.
Only in really deeply integrated apps like Audirvana the app can override and set the sample rate exclusively on the DAP.

Windows doesn't have an apple music app so you have to play via either itunes or the web page.. and no lossless at all. It uses windows universal sample rate setting, which I leave at 44.1KHz I looked everywhere for a setting to enable lossless but it's not there. But the android app built into m30 does have a lossless setting you can enable.
