Introducing Shanling M30 - Modular Desktop Hi-Fi Streaming Player

Testing it right now:

- Single/Dual switch works fine if you have headphones connected for single-ended output. In balanced it works in Dual DAC by default.

- Can confirm the default volume switch doesn't work, reported to software team.

I see no problems with the Shanling Music pausing when headphones disconnected. Please make sure the switch is in the On position.
On my unit I can't select dual DAC even when 3.5mm headphone connected
Music keep playing when headphone disconnected (setting already on "ON" positions)

Update on the default volume:

The Default volume setting works only for Pre-out output. For headphone output, it's locked at the 20 level, to prevent any accidental high volume to headphones. This is decision by head engineer.
This is much to high if you use iem on turbo gain

Can you please do factory reset and test it again?

Turbo gain is for the most demanding full-size headphones, not IEMs.

Already tried factory reset, also disassemble & reassemble the module ... no success

For some of my iem (with dynamic drivers) & earbuds, I like to use Turbo gains with small volume
Can you make default volume 20 only enforced if last volume used bigger than 20. If last volume used less than 20, then leave it.

Ok, will report it to software team to check on it.

There are currently no plans to change the behavior of default volume on M30 Pro.

I just realized that this new module not only failed to detect unplug headphone, it's also failed to detect headphone inserted
On the old module when I plugin headphone there's notification on the screen 4.4mm detected or 3.5mm detected .... On this new module there's no notification.
So I tried to plug 4.4mm 3.5mm 2.5mm & XLR. All give no notification.
But after I unplug XLR and plug 4.4mm again, there's notification 4.4mm inserted. Try to play music then unplug my headphones, music auto pause.
So all this time it stuck on XLR :face_palm:
I only use 4.4mm & 3.5mm all this time
Then I try to plug 3.5mm then try to change setting to Dual DAC and it works :grinning:
So all problems are solve now.

Glad to hear that!

Good for @Shanling to know and see if they can replicate the issue and see if it is indeed a bug. :)

The detection of the plugs is on the main chassis, the digital module itself has no direct effect on this.

Will report it to software team to check for possible cause on this.
