Was going to listen to my M30 tonight but only one of the two Korg tube lighted up on the right channel. The sound is less loud on the right channel. Running in transistor mode, the sound is even both channels and okay. Who can supply the replacement tube module? Is this user serviceable? Please help.

Sorry to hear about that. Yeah.. sounds like one of the Korg tubes have gone. I guess the authorized dealer would be able to help.

Anyway, they would not be able to order since Shanling offices are closed until end Feb for the Spring Festival. @Shanling will be back by then in any event and will be able to validate if the above works.

Thank goodness there are various ways to enjoy the M30. Have you tried the Bypass mode? It is quite different from SS and Nutube. :)

@Kiats did you observe huge battery drains with your unit ?
I let it idle overnight without playing music, and battery drop around 25%
Hmm... I usually switch mine off when I am not using it... So, I might not be the best person to help with this question. Insofar as switching off and on again, nothing notable in respect of battery drainage.

Yeah ... it's normal if I turn it off, but it shouldn't drain this much

@Shanling please check if this is normal behavior for this unit

Thanks

This is most likely dead tube.

Replacement tube modules can be ordered through our official distributors, they come in matching pairs.

Tube module replacement requires a bit deeper access to the main chassis and disconnecting a few cables there. We recommend to either have it done by repair team of distributor or some local Hi-fi shop.

Time to nudge the engineers? :)

Tried it, never received any info on this.

How much is it and from which retailer? I am good at DIY and should be able to do this myself. Can you provide me with a service manual and a part number? Can I just buy one module instead of two? I have less than 500 hours on this unit so I am somewhat disappointed by the lifespan of this tube module.

Please contact your local distributor for pricing and availability.

We only sell it in matching pairs.

Send me PM, I think we should have somewhere a video showing how to access the tubes.

@Shanling there are some issues with this new player module

# Can't select Dual DAC, always back to single
# Setting volume at boot not working. Whatever number I set, it always boot at volume 20
# Setting "Pause when headphone disconnect" also not working
@Shanling what about this problems ?
No2 I think firmware issue because Kiats also experience it.

Testing it right now:

- Single/Dual switch works fine if you have headphones connected for single-ended output. In balanced it works in Dual DAC by default.

- Can confirm the default volume switch doesn't work, reported to software team.

I see no problems with the Shanling Music pausing when headphones disconnected. Please make sure the switch is in the On position.

Update on the default volume:

The Default volume setting works only for Pre-out output. For headphone output, it's locked at the 20 level, to prevent any accidental high volume to headphones. This is decision by head engineer.
