My friend! I have found out why: you were playing two different versions of the same album. There is a normal lossless one and there is the hi-res lossless one (the 50th Anniversary version). You were playing the hi-res 50th anniversary version on the MacMini while on your iDevice you chose the normal version.Thx @Kiats
Might it be that this is a hardware limitation and not a software limitation?
Your Mac mini is quite new isn't it?
My MacBook Pro is from 2018 and my iPhone is an Iphone11Pro.
Happy about other Apple owners to test and comment!

I see what you mean but it's not the reason, taking my example from above Eagles "Take It Easy" is clearly limited in IOS to 48khz but not on M8 and not on MacOS to M30
My conclusion is for Apple Music Hires: either
a) new IOS hardware needed? To be confirmed
b) MacOS
c) Apple Music app on M30 - still pending

Quick Q: did you switch the streaming on the iphone to be able to streaming hi-res?

Does anyone know an option to directly change volume in DAC mode without needing to wake up the screen by pressing the wheel?

hope you will like itI took a chance and have ordered a Shanling M30. Should arrive later this week. Why?
Shanling has proven they know what to do with audio engineering, I was very impressed with M8. The house sound is simply superb and the pics @Whitigir provided confirm the amount of dedication the Shanling team have put into engineering high fidelity music systems. In addition, the Shanling remote control app does work with my M1 Apple Silicon Mac mini, I hope to control M30 remotely with this app.
I am putting my trust in Shanling. I expect them to release an updated Digital Player Module and continue with the amp/dac modules in the future as M30 is expected to have longevity. I understand the software issues are well documented but this will improve over time, I will document any issues I have as well. Some months after release, the experience should be palatable.
The versatility, different amps, connection flexibility indicates the clever engineering of Shanling. I am eager to experience what Shanling considers the very best they have to offer and I will continue to support them as long as they continue to deliver on the M30 system in the future.
it is an unimaginable player !
and tubes are so liquid!!
absolutely loved it
He1000 v1 sounds amazing out of m30 and m8 but software issues like USB connection with a source is poor

Mmmh, I will test that laterConnection with USB to m8 is not stable I have to toggle with USB with other like outputs to get a connection
This shouldn't happen especially as both come from same manufacturer.
Can I ask the background why you are using M8 and not e.g your standard faster smartphone or tablet or laptop or do you for example have one SD card in M8 and want to play local music?

Mmh ok
If you asked me about digital source having big impact one year ago I wouldn't believe as I thought it's all digital and the resulting PCM stream should be identical but I have meanwhile found out myself with various combinations that the source does matter indeed.
If it was all bitperfect it shouldn't matter as much despite the clocking etc stuff being superior on one or another source but the described signature differences tell another story

I think u have hear a difference with your source technically its different but as u hear it's different but with my library it sounds amazing with all kinds music .I brought wa33 for my abyss phi tc but this is only Amp and player which could drive in full potential for my abyss but it couldn't drive Susana for full potential
