Sorry...I have no experience with the CD3000s... But I have to say how happy I am with my W1000's that just arrived in their white plasticized-paper bag a few hours ago. I'm not surprized at all about the dramatic impovement they are over my TD/60's ... but I still am amazed at their clarity...

I highly recomend "Alison Krauss + Union Station Live" (from Louisville, KY, 2002, Rounder Recirds Corp.). A bit less refined than their studio performances (as can be expected). But nevertheless a superb live recording that maintains the detailed, precise acoustic sound that I love AK+US for.
