Shops in Malaysia and Singapore
Jaben is the only store I'll bother with. Good prices, free auditioning of anything you like, good warranties and always with freebies thrown in. Just that can be crowded sometimes. M'sia prices are all too ...- norseman8485

CrossRoads MylarOne X3, XB, and Classic Owners Club
Where did you get yours? Have you tried contacting Jaben? My x3 just died and was replaced with a Bijou 3. Still undecided if the SQ is an improvement but the build quality is definitely light years ahead.- norseman8485

DT880 experience, unamped (vs MS2i)
I'm running mine on an Edge amp through a USB DAC. Couldn't hear much of a soundstage either...- norseman8485

They sound just like any other DT880 - fantastic! But that green color... The moment the box was opened I knew I just have to get the green.- norseman8485

Just ordered my D2
I just bought a 16GB D2 last week and still playing around with it. Most people I know with the D2 run it ampless as the improvement of an amp thru its headphone out is rather minimal. That's another reason why I got it: the SQ of the D2 is good enough without an amp and thus, less bulk, cables...- norseman8485

These are it. I was told they were special editions and cost a tad more than the standard silver ones though I managed to get them at the same price as the stock. They look good though, sort of semi-manufaktur, and especially on a dark wood headphone stand.- norseman8485

beyer dt770 80 vs 250
I believe the impedence affects the sound somewhat as well. Testing the 2 side-by-side I somehow prefer the 250 ohm version.- norseman8485

BEYERDYNAMIC DT770....80 or 250 Ohm
Between the 80 and the 250 ohm, I like the sound of the latter better. The 150 can be fantastic, but it really needs an amp to shine. Sometimes they can sound overly dark to me.- norseman8485

[Comparison] Beyerdynamic DT 150 vs DT 880 2003, a novice's comparison(w/ PICtures)
denl82: Your comparison between the 880 and 150 is very insightful. I find myself agreeing with most of your points regarding each headphone. I also find that sometimes the 150 can really make you go 'Wow!' like no other. However, between the 2, I finally ended up with the 880 as it's not as...- norseman8485

Recabling AKG K81s? ¯\(°_o)/¯
Probably you could find some audio shp that sells them by length? If you're terminating it with L-plugs, I like the Neutrik ones IF your cable is really thin. They look great and compact but are very fiddily to work with. Switchcraft is much easier but its huge.- norseman8485

super-fi.4!?
Despite the stainless steel look and the UE cables, somehow it looks kinda cheap to me, like some generic chinese IEMs. Strange, I much prefer the look of the other sf's.- norseman8485

has anyone compared the k81dj and the k240s?
The dj's have a hell lot of bass and a pretty sweet midrange. Kinda lacks the treble for rock though, unless you mod them with silver cables.- norseman8485

Yuin pk2/3 vs mylarone x3
The 3is are improved version of the x3, as a result of customer feedback such as increased bass, soundstage, build quality and a sturdier jack designed to fit iphones. By all reports, its great.- norseman8485
