Just took deliverly on my DT770's

these are going to be replacing my old HD25sp's which really didn't need replacing. Just me being bored and wasting money really

They're not so disimilar in sound the Beyers to the HD25's. The DT770's seem to be tighter and more controled and just offer that tad extra whack! in the bass department (it is only a "tad" though). At the same volume my HD25's sound more "stretched". The DT's seem to have a slightly bigger sound stage but again I think both are pretty similar and hats off to the HD's being a much smaller can.
First impressions - pleased but not blown away. Maybe the HD25 1's would have been the better choice? But of the HD25sp's and DT770's I prefer the Beyers and I'm pleased I have them

Good call guys - thanks for the recommendation!

I was hoping that would be te case

I know my HD25's improved greatly after getting some proper power through them over a long period of time. Might leave these playing for half a day and come back to 'em

Enjoying them greatly so far though

Which DT770 do you have, 2005 consumer edition or one of the pro's?
Just curious...

they're dt770 pro 80omhs mate. Is there a difference to other DT770's other than 250-80ohms?
These are great, I love 'em but they're making my old sennhiesers look impressive for the age price and size diffrerence

There are four DT770 models:
DT770 2005 consumer edition (250 ohm)
DT770 Pro 80 ohm
DT770 Pro 250 ohm
DT770 M (80 ohm)

I find that the 2005 250 ohm consumer version sounds better than the 80 ohm pro version. What do you guys think?

Agree, but I think the treble of the DT770/80 pro is more friendly than the piercing highs of the DT770 2005 consumer ed.
Besides that, 2005 consumer edition is better in all aspects.

I am chomping at the bit to get mine! They shipped from California early Wednesday morning, and I live in Oklahoma. I hope they arrive tonight, but that might be pushing it (especially with Christmas in-between.)
