Can I reset my update and install firmware 1.1 again? After updating to firmware 1.3 my flac (192 kHz, 24 bit, 96 kHz, 24 bit) wil not play anymore or the music plays with interuptions. It seems that the firmware has no time enough to decode the music and the music faulters... The...- zinzoeker

Syncback is a backup programme and is available in a freeware and pro version. For normal use, the freeware version is more than good enough. The site itself is not userfriendly, you are right. This is the link: http://www.2brightsparks.com/download-syncbackfree.html- zinzoeker

Foobar can do this, but I am using Musicbee as it is more userfriendly for me than Foobar. For creating albums on my SD-card for the X1, I also use syncback to syncronize some music between my pc and X1.- zinzoeker

FiiO X1 firmware version 1.10 download and discussion thread
I was an Apple fan (iTunes & iPod Classic Video 80GB). So I have a lot of music in aac 256 kbps and also purchased music from iTunes. If you bought it at a bitrate of 256 kbps, it is DRM-free (but with you e-mailadres encoded in the tags), you can transfer it without any problem via... -

+1 Listeners who want extra's, there a a lot of high end smarhphones which play good quality. But I am a dinosaur. I want a high end DAP without al those extra's: Android has to be updated continious. Wifi, bluethooth needs protection (virusscanner, anti-spyware, ....) In the end you'll...- zinzoeker

With all respect for Fiio and what you are trying to do, it is impossible to satisfy all your clients. Following this thread, it proves, it is an impossible job to create THE ultimate player. :) For me I don't want Android, Windows, Apple or Linux as software for my ulitmate player, nor...- zinzoeker

Did you (re)format your card in the X1 device, before copying your files to the card? -

ppffff That's not funny at all. I understand your frustration. But the manual says: quote •The TF card should preferably be a blank card of 32GB of capacity or under in FAT32 format. •Make sure the X1 is adequately charged (preferably fully charged) for the update process to prevent... -

Was the micro SD cart completely empty? No other files or maps on the card? For updating software, it is the best thing to use an empty card with no other files or maps except the update-software itself. I had the same problems with my photo camera. Updates did not work, untill I used... -

Forgive my bad and simple English... :P I will summarize later my wishlist, but I just found out a missing item in my new X1. The X1 has just one possibility for custom Equalizer. You can choose between rock, classic, ...., custom. But only 1 customize setting. When you use different...- zinzoeker

I am certainly not an expert, but I suppose you can do the following to clean your SD-card: - put your SD-card into a reader and delete the files/maps in your card. - format your card with your pc/laptop. It doesn't matter in which format FAT32 / FAT16 / NTFS /... It is just for cleaning up...- zinzoeker

When the X1 is playing a song and you push the on/off button, the music stops playing and the device is turned off. When you later push the on/off button again, the device powers up and starts playing automatic your last song. -

Is there a way to register somewhere (on the Fiio site for example), where you get a notification that an update for your device is available? -

Indeed, you love the iPod untill you'll listen to the X1. Such a difference. I can't compare with other players, but for me the X1 is a great buy. Now I can listen again more classical music :)- zinzoeker

I am not an audiophile, just a listener to some of the music I own. So I have a iPpod Classic Video 80GB for over 6 years now. And I love the player. But after buying the X1 I sadly don't use the iPod anymore except for podcasts and audiobooks. The soundquality is very better, deeper. Volume...- zinzoeker

No offense, but then you could better buy a smarthphone instead of a high end DAP. Such an ultimate device should be as basic as possible. Butttons instead of touchscreen. And more buttons if needed, so you avoid those stupid things as: push button 2 seconds for playback, push the same...- zinzoeker

I play a mix of mp3 (320 kbps), flac (coded 4 or 5), alac, aac (256 kbps, bought via iTunes) without any problems. The songs are copied to the 64 GB Transcend micro SD with Musicbee, so all songs are in one folder and I play them with 'shuffle'.- zinzoeker

Earphones but no IEM
Hello, I am new to this forum and have a question about quality earphones. I recently bought the Fiio X1 and I am using a pair of in-ear headphones Final Audio Design Adagio II. They sound great, but I am not a fan of IEM, because of the pressure inside my ears an the possibility of...- zinzoeker
