  Foobar can do this, but I am using Musicbee as it is more userfriendly for me than Foobar.   For creating albums on my SD-card for the X1, I also use syncback to syncronize some music between my pc and X1.

When the X1 is playing a song and you push the on/off button, the music stops playing and the device is turned off. When you later push the on/off button again, the device powers up and starts playing automatic your last song.

I play a mix of mp3 (320 kbps), flac (coded 4 or 5), alac, aac (256 kbps, bought via iTunes) without any problems. The songs are copied to the 64 GB Transcend micro SD with Musicbee, so all songs are in one folder and I play them with 'shuffle'.
