  Couple of questions:

2) Has anyone verified that the X1 will handle a mix of MP3 and FLAC files?  I've read about other players that have issues with this.

Thanks!

I play a mix of mp3 (320 kbps), flac (coded 4 or 5), alac, aac (256 kbps, bought via iTunes) without any problems. The songs are copied to the 64 GB Transcend micro SD with Musicbee, so all songs are in one folder and I play them with 'shuffle'.

  Couple of questions:

1) I'm assuming that the battery is not user replaceable since it doesn't state so on Fiio's website.  Is this correct?

The only issue I found with mixing files was the delay time. I inadvertently mixed FLAC and MP3 in the same album folder. It still read them back to back, just a slight delay in going from song to song.

Actually, if you're using the HS6 stacking kit with the X5, it's pretty impossible to remove the card since you cant really grab it, unless you have long fingernails. Hopefully Fiio will take that into consideration when they design the stacking kit for the X1

I think there will still lots of people will complain to us even we already make our best. anyway, please understand there are nothing is perfect, remember that you got something and you lost something. even in iDevice.

James, you and your company do an awesome job. You have great products at very fair and affordable prices. I wish more companies operated the way you do. Keep up the great work!!

Perhaps we lose sight of the fact that this is a very cheap player for what you're getting. I don't personally find it at all difficult to use in any way. The sound that you are getting for your money is extremely good and Fiio have done a great job imo.

i went back to my Classics and the messing around with Itunes (and how it works so slowly) drives me nuts and following a loading session, I decided that they are going to go.

The X1 is much easier for loading files and way faster. The sound is also beautifully robust. Listening direct through a Denon d600 makes it sound just massive and full.

X1 is a bargain buy and the quibbles are just not a big deal.

My X1 cannot play MP3 files ripped from one of my CD albums. It just says "File not supported" and after that skips to the next song in the folder and displays the same error for the next song. The funny thing is the same MP3 files play without problem with my X5. Anyone encountered such problem?

This is the codecs info of the song.

clee290 has got your problem covered. But if you're ripping this CD yourself, you're doing something wrong, converting it at 22.05kHz instead of 44.1kHz...

I remember when you got 30 tracks on a 90min tape and the batteries in the player lasted 2 hours and the background noise could blow out a candle
No complaints from me I think the X1 is magic from the future

I remember my CD players skipping while listening in the car. Good times
