The discovery thread!
@kin HGD - Noticed you have the Fidue Asteroid in your sig. What's your thoughts on that one? Caught my eye as I was browsing 11.11 sales but not much info of that one. Love the older Fidue A83, wondering if Asteroid was worth the pick up.- hte80

Resistance of cables; pics, comments, and links
Have you had a chance to look at these yet (Linsoul HC-08 )? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32948963889.html Are they worth buying? Or just pass and get the ISN ones? Seems like those were the some of the lowest resistance cables in your list.......Or am I using the data in totally the wrong...- hte80

Anyone know if there are any cases for this? Will A40 series cases fit? Affordable price (<US$25) would be nice too! Something along the lines of this : https://www.amazon.com/iGadgitz-Leather-Walkman-Magnetic-Protector/dp/B01N6S901X It's been a struggle to even find a screen protector....- hte80

New Vsonic VS Series
I'd probably agree with Crinacle, esp 1st and 3rd points. So probably not V shaped exactly, more what sounds like elevated bass (relative to GR07/bass) but what sounds like relatively laid-back/dampened/veiled/you-favorite-synonym-here not-bass. To me GR09 represents a nicer overall sound...- hte80

New Vsonic VS Series
short version is that VS7 is more warm, large fun bass and the top end sounds a bit subdued in comparison, but i don't think the top end is compromised either. GR09 is like GR07 Bass Edition ++. Generally keeps the same sound but with a low end that digs lower. It's more what I would call tight...- hte80

Reply to review by 'hte80' on item 'XRK Audio NHB Portable Class A'
Theres actually a version with a USB rechargeable LiPo battery, and also a desktop version/mod - check out the DIYA thread ;) Also, other DIYA people have made pretty cool cases for it as well, including a classy wooden box. so I guess thats 3 items ticked off your wishlist- hte80

New DIY Altoids Tin Amp - The Pocket Class A "Wintergreen Handwarmer" by xrk971
Could you elaborate a bit more on how to tune the bias and output capacitorsfor lower impedance headphones? [Nevermind, went back a few pages and found the post about capacitance. How should I adjust the bias current though? / Do I need to?] I would be looking to use it with ~35-50 ohm...- hte80

Any particular 10uF cap which you are using? Nichicon something-or-others I'm guessing? Would something like the PW series be fine or am I barking up the wrong tree?- hte80
