New to Upscale Headphones - PC Gamer - Need Advice/Help

I like the Kingston HyperX Cloud Core but don't use the microphone with it, buy a a dynamic cardioid microphone (with an on-off switch and add a windscreen - like what singers use), a xlr to 3.5mm cable, and whatever boom mount you prefer.   If if you really want it to be with a mic I'd go for...

    hello and help

I have the se215 but I don't have any of the other ones you want to compare, sorry. Those se215s and the Bose IE2s are the only ones that I can get to stay in my ears when I go running. With the se215 you get the constant thump thump as you run but you get used to it. I sweat a lot and it hasn't...

The next Takstar pro 80 headphone for gaming?

So, someone asked me for a recommendation on a closed back gaming headphone for under $100. I went to amazon and either the takstars are gone or the price has doubled. What's the new goto headphone? Thanks.

PC Gaming - intro to Virtual surround set-up?

The audio in your motherboard isn't that great so yes the Xonar DGX or the Tritton will be a nice step-up. They both have Dolby headphone which is what I think you're looking for but the Tritton lists little for specs which makes me like leary, but most gamers care look for stuff that looks cool...

PC Gaming - intro to Virtual surround set-up?

Pretty much every sound card now days has some kind of virtual surround in it but some are more effective than others (the Realtek's surround is the weakest in my opinion). You could try out Razer's surround sound (which is free) and see how that works for you. What sound card is in your...

    Suggestions for headphone upgrades

The CAL is pretty good for what I read. I'm inclined to say wait until you can spend around $300. Or if you're a verizon customer you can get the PSB or a HP50 for about $190. If you don't want to spend that much what do you like better, the CAL or the 2050? The pro 80 will sound like the 2050...

    2.0 for $150ish

Looking for a recommendation for a smallish speaker set for around $150. The width is the biggest restraint at around 6". They can either be powered or I think a T-amp will work. Audio is run from an ALC1150. I'm looking for more of an enjoyable non-critical listening set if that makes sense...

    Momentum vs ATH -M40X

I'm guessing you're talking about the first Momentum overear (m1)?   The momentum's have a little bit of a V shaped sound signature where the M40x is very neutral. The M40x has a wider sound stage than the M1. The bass of the M40x to me sounds a bit artificial. The bass on the M1 is punchy but...

VMODA M100 vs ATH M50X vs other closed back cans below $300

Ahh ok. Another option is the Beyerdynamic DT770 80 or 32 ohm.   What didn't you like about the momentums?

Sennheiser HD 215 vs HD 215 ii

Well the only difference I see in the tech specs is that the Sound Pressure Level is 108 in the first and 112 in the second. Visually I can't tell the difference either.

VMODA M100 vs ATH M50X vs other closed back cans below $300

Between the two I'd take the M100. What about the NAD HP50? It's not as bass heavy as the M100.

    Durable Earbuds?

The Marshall Mode EQ looks like it's got a good quality cable and it has a remote, although it's a bit over what you want to pay. If you don't need a remote take a look at the MEElectronics M6 Pro.

Best Headphones To Isolate all noise

Are earphones out of the question? You can use some comply tips on some earphones that you already have to block out a fair amount of noise. If they've got to be over-ear headphones the Sennheiser HD 280 pro does a pretty good job too.

best basshead iems for under 100$ for rap, hip hop and techno music

Need help deciding between HD598, AKG K545 and Momentum 1.0 n

Yes the 545 treble can be a bit harsh at louder volumes but generally it's a pleasant sounding headphone. Boring headphones are traditionally described as flat where fun headphones have a v sound signature with elongated levels of bass and treble (Such as the momentum). The HD 558/598 actually...

    Best freaking noise isolation

You can try the comply sound isolating eartips or you save some $$ and try making your own using earplugs. If that doesn't solve it then noise cancelling might be the way to go.

Looking for portable cousin to the DT770s

What about the momentum M2 on or over ear? The M50x has a similar sound signature but I think it would be a slight step back from the DT770.

Need help deciding between HD598, AKG K545 and Momentum 1.0 n

Well the good news is that they all sound great. HD 598 sound stage is really wide and is very crisp and are super comfy, but they are open if you care about that and they lack sub-bass. The Momentums are more of a fun headphone, it has elevated bass and do a good job of hiding imperfections in...

    Non-Isolating IEM's for work

The Bose IE2 is right around $100. They are very comfortable and lets in quite a bit of external noise.
