Headphoneus Supremus
Due to the fact that Grados SUCK in a noisy environment, I need a closed-back solutions for commuting and working next to a unfinished building.
I'm considering on the M100 and the M50X, both popular on head-fi. Unfortunately I don't like Sennheiser Momentums that much.
I have auditioned both the M100 and the M50X (in separate stores), but the short duration and the limited track selection available at the stores makes it hard to come to a decision. My bad sound-memory didn't help, either.
Other recommendations are extremely welcome too.
I would use the cans with my iPhone and iPad (no external amp/dac planned yet).
Main types of music include: Indie Pop/Rock (Florence + Machine, Marinna Diamonds, Lana Del Rey), Oldies Pop (Carpenters, ABBA), Post-Rock (God is an Astronaut, Collapse under the Empire), soft Vietnamese/French/Chinese classic pop (in other words, Vocals)... I would sometime load Extreme Metal onto my iPhone too.
My sincere thanks.
