    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I'd recommend hand washing to start. Not sure how durable those guys would be in a spin cycle.

Perhaps, stuck limo -- knowing what you know -- you could verify if the screws listed here look fit for the task?:   http://www.albanycountyfasteners.com/Socket-Head-Cap-Screw-1-6MM-A2-Stainless-Steel-p/5000000.htm   The specs look promising (M1.6 socket head screws that take a 1.5mm hex...

V-MODA CROSSFADE WIRELESS: Exclusive Preview, Videos, Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Yeah, that seems more appealing to me, too...provided they don't decide to repurpose old M80 stock and backpedal on one of their signature (CliqFold™©® ℠ ℗§ ☮ ☪ ☂☢) features again. But hey, at least it will have world-class screws!

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

They were backordered for 3-4 weeks a while ago. V-MODA must make the XLs in small batches, since I imagine the only people buying them are the very small population of head-fiers seeking them out.

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player

Marone, I think Saraguie's post was meant to point to the fact that even a cursory search would tell you the Pono player is nowhere near release yet (October is the projected "maybe" date as per the Kickstarter page, which should be an early stop for anyone actively looking into the Pono)...

    V-MODA XS - V-MODA M-80s upgraded - Pictures and more! [Discussion, Questions] #FirstthreadtocoverXS

Actually, as CEO, Val has granted himself the title of "Chief Visionary Officer" -- so SpiderNhan was correct, grammatically and factually.   Also, it's spelled "grammar," officer.         EDIT: Beaten to it by SpiderNhan himself.

APRIL FOOLS! Astell&Kern AK480 Music Player!

But...but...but...This place misleads people all the time. Why do you think its slogan is "Welcome to [the corporate-sponsor-driven culture of] head-fi, and sorry about your wallet"?   As far as these types of jokes happening in the future, I suggest everyone simply mark April 1st on their...

Are the V-Modas overrated by people who don't have enough experience with headphones?

By "bass-centered" I'm fairly certain he means "bass-focused", as in "the bass is at the center of the show" (and not "the bass is at the center of the frequency scale" or some other such nonsense).

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. The tolerances on this headphone are probably pretty tight, which could turn areas of even slight variance into stress zones.     I remember one user had an actual chunk of his earcup's plastic perimeter (the part that holds the pad in) break off. He...

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

If that's the case, it's unfortunately not a structural problem isolated to my particular pair, as the past few posts and previous discussions of this issue have shown.

No, it's the same pair. I initially wasn't sure if V-MODA would simply replace the entire headphone, but they seem inclined to just swap out parts when possible.

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Possibly. If any variation exists, I'd suspect it's with the consistency of the plastic compound V-MODA uses for the non-metal parts. Perhaps the formulation of my pair's plastic skews a tad too far from flexibility and toward brittleness than most other people's. I dunno. I will say the...

The History of Epithetless' M-100s, 101: I discovered a hairline crack on the outside perimeter of one of the earcups shortly after receiving them; sent them into V-MODA to have the part replaced (I wasn't going to just grin and bear that sort of flaw when the product was otherwise almost...

Welcome to the club.   After a couple rounds of repairs, it took me a good long while to accept the brittle plastic on these guys is just going to crack no matter how I coddle them. Now that I've made peace with it, my standards have dipped accordingly: As long as the hairline fractures...

This. Have been crossing my fingers for some time that we'd eventually see an audio-only cable that's reasonably sized for portable use.
