Phoniac is right, you probably won't need even half the power, though the THX AAA can certainly output a lot. Personally I haven't used it yet, though I tend to enjoy the added reverb/space in a lot of electronic music- eventually I'll have to give it a try, though. I agree, the mojo is...

    RME ADI-2 DAC Thread

I'm pretty sure it'll drive practically any headphone you could attach to it. Your HD6XX is 300ohms- ADI-2 will output .3 watts at that level of resistance before clipping (.2 watts are the approximate power handling limit for the HD6XX). Edit: HE400i can handle a nominal 6W @ 40ohm, you might...

Nope, I saw a review on ASR about how well it measured and made an impulse buy- same for everything else in the stack, lol. I believe the ADI-2 could be a "one and done" depending on your requirements.

Both:sunglasses: If I had to choose, though, I'd keep the ADI-2 for my main use and THX AAA for instances where more power is needed; it's nice to have separate components that can be easily upgraded/replaced. In addition, the digital volume control in particular is really nice as well as the...

Pretty much. Lately I'm focusing on the IEM output with the Legend X- I perceived a slight difference in smoothness in contrast to the D50/AAA...other than that I don't think I could tell them apart, at least in my limited listening experience (if ever). Eventually I'll set it up on my desktop...

    RME ADI-2 DAC Thread

It's one of those oversized velour-like drawstring pouches that some IEMS come with; I can't remember what came in it as I have too much gear, lol. I slid it over the cradle so if it bumped the D50 it wouldn't scratch the anodized metal housing. Both are exceptionally good DACs- excellent...

    Campfire - Solaris

Aw yiss. Perhaps you can do a quick n' dirty comparison to the LX before my Solaris ships

    Campfire - Solaris

As a fellow basshead (and EDM listener) I'm quite interested in reading your impressions- hopefully you prefer it over the LX so my wallet doesn't have to suffer more than it already has, lol.

    Campfire - Solaris

I'm curious as to your opinion on the Solaris being better than the LX- I was considering taking the plunge at some point; however I hesitate since I'm not sure how the LX compares to the Ref.1 Too (I suspect it might be more of a sidegrade). From all accounts, though the Solaris seems to be...

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas

Same issue here, probably worse; I'm still looking for silicone tips that will keep them in.

Best headphones for gym use for a bit of a basshead

I'd go with the Sony MDR-AS800AP- it's lightweight (so they won't fall out of your ears), soundstage is fairly large and bass is also really good. I'm an EDM listener as well- these will do the trick :)

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas

Oh man, this doesn't bode well for my wallet, lol. Since you own the Vega (as do I) do you think the upgrade is worth it? It seems to me that a Vega with better mids/larger stage would be pretty amazing insofar as single DDs go...

2017 Southeastern Michigan Head-fi.org Spring Meet: Paulson's Audio & Video

I should be able to make it. Btw Antonio's (next door) has great Italian food- we should definitely go there :)

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

Guys, my wallet is trembling- I'm truly afraid for it now, lol. I'll probably never get a chance to demo them without buying, either :(   Still, if/when in the moment of weakness I succumb to my urges it'll be due to your enthusiasm and impressions- just thought I'd let you know.

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV

Are you going to try it with the Ref.1 Too? I need to order one of these cables soon...

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV

Would you consider the Ref 8 to be a decent upgrade? I'm pretty happy with how the Vegas sound coming out of the Mojo, however I can't help wonder if there's anything to be gained from getting another cable.

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV

Totally agree with you on this point- Ref. 1 Too bass is incredible but Vegas are definitely more coherent...still, both are excellent earphones- I couldn't pick a clear winner between the two; it would come down to my listening preferences on a given day. Z5 bass has a slower decay (more...

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV

I primarily listen to EDM and the bass is plenty satisfying- you're probably right about the Vega suiting your preferences more. I've read that the Andromeda doesn't have the visceral impact of a DD but still sounds full. I bet they will sound great, though!

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV

Roughly 5 hours in at this point...organic, lush, intimate, detailed, coherant, refined, highly transparent: pretty much how I would describe these; they compliment many of the others in my collection- I don't think I'll be buying any more earphones for quite some time, though a Ref. 8 cable...

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

Argh, that figures. Male vocals are usually problematic for me on v-shaped signatures due to a scoop in the 400-800hz range on many of my headphones; perhaps an EQ bump in that region would help compensate and allow me to use the pads with an added benefit of larger stage/clarity (which would...

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

How'd they impact the sound? I just got my Purplehearts last week- they're a lot of fun (l listen to lots of EDM) but ofc I'd like to make them better
