E530 cable broke. what caused it?
I sent my e500s back to shure 2 weeks ago to get them fixed because of a torn left cable. I even told them that my cat had gotten a hold of it... they told me to send them in and they sent me a whole new e500 box with all the accesoriess. Panavise Options?
I forgot to mention that I use the weighted base for mine when I need it. I think its the most flexible option since you can work on any surface and still have your workpiece stay still.- jl123

Microdac mod
I designed a pcb for 2 627s biased with a JFET cascode. I had hoped to etch it this weekend but something came up and I'm on my way back to school tomorrow without any double sided board. So it will probably be another week unless I head to the Frys Electronics in Houston, which is about an...- jl123

Panavise Options?
The panavise JR or whatever its called is handy at holding cables and larger parts. It can hold a decent size pcb for you as well. The standard panavise with the vinyl jaws are handy at holding rather small parts. It can hold a pcb but only by an edge. Just last night I was using the JR to hold...- jl123

IEMS/ Shure E500
Use the foamies. To me any other tips make it sound off. I used the soft tips(grey) for a while after my first pair of foamies got worn out. Now that I've made my own foamies I'm starting to like them again. I'm a foamie fan what can I say.- jl123

How to find and understand datasheets... ???
Sounds like you're trying to find parts rather than data sheets. For example if you want to do some fancy led circuit just Google "IC for led circuit". Google is your friend. Maybe suck it up and buy some electronic books. Mine have common ICs and their applications.- jl123
