Zune 2.5 Update
After some testing I can comfirm, for my part at least, the update is NOT gapless with WMA lossless. So far, it plays back my music gaplessly about 80% of the time, while the rest of the time it either is a very slight snap or clip sort of gap (almost unnoticable). All my music was ripped using...- MrCookie989

RIO Karma Ebay SCAM! rdvm777
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but this is somewhat on topic. Last week I bought a JBL Radial speaker system for my iPod on eBay. However, it hasn't shipped and the seller appeared to be having lots of complaints judging by their feedback. I tried to contact the seller and figure out what...- MrCookie989

Anybody got their hands on a Gigabeat S player yet?
I would love to see more hands-on info about the S series as well. Its nice to see more 60gig players coming out, since the next player I buy has to be that large. I hope the Vision M ends up coming out in 60gig too, that player seems top gear.- MrCookie989

Rio Karma Scroll Wheel Question for Karma Owners
Yeah, mine scrollwheel broke as well, one good drop on a kitchen floor did the trick. Im getting a new one and will definitly be treating that thing like a newborn. There simply isnt another DAP out there thats such a joy to use. Oh, and another thing, since the Karma has dual interface controls...- MrCookie989

Nomad Jukebox 3 question
Im pretty sure that NBJ3 hard drive can be replaced with a 20/40/60, since its a 2.5" drive (at least thats my guess, that player was a big boy). Maybe not the 60 though, since that prolly has a dual plattar. Someone on this board will know for sure.- MrCookie989

Zen Touch
The USB does come with a plastic cover (very small and black), and your pins sure got bent alright. But you might be able to get them back into place and still get the cable to connect, I have had to do something like that before with a Rio Riot ("Thousands of years ago"). The only two that look...- MrCookie989

Best sound by itself?
My Zen Touch 40gb has a great, "by itself" sound. It also has a now (with a firmware update) decent EQ. But iAudio players also have a great sound just on their own as well. Your best best would be a Creative player, like the Touch, or an iAudio X5.- MrCookie989

Zen Touch EQ
I think the speed of transfers is actually improved, I just loaded about 30gigs of music back on my Zen in an hour and change, I was surprised that it was so quick considering it was that music music.- MrCookie989

What does 'compressed' sound like?
I dunno if theres any Who fans reading this thread, but their "Remastered" CD of The Kids Are Alright is about the most horribly compressed album I have ever heard. Its a complete abomination of a remaster. The Whos latest remasters have also suffered from an extensive use of noise reduction as...- MrCookie989

Zen Touch EQ
Bummer, I have had been searching for that original firmware for the last week and just 20 minutes ago I updated to the newest one Oh well, Creative did fix up the EQ quite nicely (meaning it actually kinda works now). And its also nice to able to drag and drop finally. Although I use my...- MrCookie989

THE Mars Volta appreciation Thread
I saw The Mars Volta live in Santa Barbara a few weeks ago and they were simply amazing. They played a non-stop 2 hour set with so much energy and depth it was really surprising. They were all miked and mixed very well, you could even make out the guy hamering away at the random percussion...- MrCookie989

On my Zen Touch the gap is never more than a split-second. All live albums and gapless albums play very nicely. Were you thinking about getting a Creative player?- MrCookie989

Creative changes strategy
Quote: Anyway Mr Cookie.... can you please tell me if it is worth upgrading from the Jukebox 3 to the new Zen series? Especially considering how much I am already satisfied with the SQ and UI? Will the new Zen players will allow me to use my old school firmware from my Nomad Jukebox? If...- MrCookie989

Creative changes strategy
I own a Zen Touch and before that a Karma and a Nomad Jukebox 3 before that, and I have to say that Creative can make some great players. A few things trouble me about them though, one being that they have lost many, many features over the years, and not to mention sound quality. The Nomad JB3...- MrCookie989

Auditioned the SR60, man what a diff!
I just tried out the SR60s and I must say I was impressed, they seemed much brighter and clearer then my PX100s or my Portapro (RIP). Good stuff- MrCookie989
