I have just received a Raptor and K701's. I am still burning in the K701's and getting used to the characteristics of the Raptor. I will report back in a few weeks.

I have just taken possession of a Raptor. As has been noted numerous times, this amp runs hot. In particular, I note the tubes run very hot. Do any early adopters have any experience regarding tube life for this amp?

I've had a 20gb Creative Zen for a couple of years now, and it has served me well. My problem is that I can't take the SQ degradation using MP3 files, and all my music is stored as 16 bit 44.1khz WAV files. As a result, I can only get about 35 CD's on the hard drive. This is not enough choice...

I had a chance to listen to the K701 for about 15 minutes and liked the sound. They were the shop demo model, and may not have had the desired 450 hours burn in. I like my HD580's. I'd be interested to hear people's experiences and observations from going from Sennheisers to the K701. Thanks.
