REVIEW: Dunu DN-2002 - The Tale of a Hi-Res Hybrid IEM

Lol, coming from the Dunu 2jk, calling Dunu's previous earphones "notoriously heavy" made me chuckle. These things are so damn light. Glad to hear about the less sharp edges and removable cable. Not sure I like the over-the-ear design though.

DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?

Are you referring the Philips Fidelio X2? Edit: I have an iphone 6s plus as well as an Oppo ha2, there's not a "world" of a difference like there was with ipod 5 vs oppo ha-2, but it's still noticable when using the dn-2kj

And on the same token, how many people suggest the Sennheiser Hd650 for EDM? (Hint: none) It's most frequently described as "Neutral" and "Natural", so keep that in mind.

DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?

Yea well look at the AK series portable devices, they're glorified ipods that cost 5-10 times as much for even less usability. Saying that the Dn-2kj doesn't have enough bass is ludicrous. With an Eq, different tips, and the spacers, there's easily more than enough. You don't want to sacrifice...

OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread

So a $1500 Dap doesn't have enough power for 16ohm IEMs? What's the point of them then? One could literally buy a fiio x1 and use it instead and save themselves a grand.

Why exactly are you pluggin the Ha2 into an Ak 120? Surely that would downgrade the quality?

Get the dn2kj, my entire music library is of EDM and no other iem that I've tried handles it anywhere near as well as these.

DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?

Hmm, my dn2kj have started making some sort of crackling sound anytime there's like extended bass present. Anyone know what that could be? I hope I don't have to get them fixed, they've been problem-free for me up until now. Edit: Occurs on multiple tracks, multiple sources, and only present in...

It's a (mental) burn-in issue. Even compared to Stereo Systems the NH have quite a lot of upper/mid bass. So it takes awhile to get used to hearing parts of your music that you're not used to hearing.

Fair enough, I said I couldn't compare it to the ha-2, but both the C6 & the Ha-2 were an upgrade from the Vamp in sound alone, but the C6 had a lot of shortcomings in other areas. (After I reread my review of it on the C6 thread)

Yep,V-Moda Vamp Verza was pretty notable, as well as the Cayin C6. I can't quite remember how well the Cayin sounded, so I can't compare it to the Ha-2, but... Sound: Ha2/C6 > Verza Appearance: (subjective) Ha2 = C6 > Verza Functions :Verza>Ha-2>C6 Reliability: (Frequency of disconnects...

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

I was over at my EX girlfriend's house and I was moving between my two houses, so I had my audio equipment with me. She knew I was into all sorts of speakers and headphones so I asked if she'd be interested in trying my Audioquest Nighthawks & Dunu Dn-2000j with my Oppo Ha-2, running from my...

iOS 9.3 is now out. Hopefully as one person stated, it should reduce the interference between the iPhone and the Oppo Ha-2, as well as other devices.

Sometimes I really hate you guys. lol.   I think I'm fine with the Nighthawks for now. If I still decide that even semi-open headphones aren't good enough, I'll go from there. But open vs closed for gaming is hardly a competition. Open are always far better.

I do! However, there just aren't enough high-end bass-heavy headphones. And the ones I've tried are just too uncomfortable to use. Best bet would be like the Denon Ah-d7100, but they just don't have the SQ that you'd expect at their price.

It can, but you still need a device to Stream that audio to. DAP Is Digital Audio Player, like an iPod, just about any smartphone, or other hifi players like the fiio xx ibasso series, ak xxx, etc. A DAC is a Digital Analog converter, high-end Dacs can be plugged into a Dap to get a better sound.

Welp. After my 2nd day with these, I'm starting to mould some opinions. Highs: I've never heard treble ever quite as "formed" quite like with these. Like, treble never seemed so dynamic, in songs it would only seem like one note, with these I'm really hearing a lot for the first time on the...
