FiiO X1 is a perfectly good source - I use mine all the time.

What is substandard about it? How much time have you spent with it? Please point out it's flaws (seeing as how you are making statements like that).

well its good but compared to other daps regardless of price

really I do not have much money, but I've seen the good reviews about the 2000J and I think I'll make an effort ...
about the high could not play with the treble of e17k?
will be my first Hi-Res and if many people compare it here with the 3003 must sound pretty good...

oh yes, I like to hear everything clearly. in fact I am very happy with the EX1, I have tried other cheaper and do not have the clarity of Fiio.
I would like to say wow! with 2000J

The 2000J will definitely WOW you then - extremely clear. Still one of my favourite IEMs.  Another to consider would be the Jays q-Jays (new model). And with the E17K you have the option of adjusting the treble to suit your taste.

If he enjoys the Titan 1, the 2000 is unlikely to have the signature he's after.  I have both. The 2000 is a lot more "subdued". I loved the 1000 and the 2000J.  The 2000 left me just a little underwhelmed.  A very good earphone - but won't have the Titan 1's upper end.

Brooko, I have been lurking this thread for a while and I was waiting for your review about DN2002 to decide if it will worth/fit to my taste over the 2KJ, but hopefully my father will travel to Japan and now is the perfect opportunity to get them so do you think is to soon to make a judgment or worth pick up the 2002? or save some bucks and get the 2KJ?

Depends on what your tastes are. I quite like the 2002 - and will be working on it for Vivian shortly. But I have issues with comfort, and for my own personal tastes, I still prefer the 2000J a little more at this stage. I'll see if I can accelerate the review a little.

Hmm, my dn2kj have started making some sort of crackling sound anytime there's like extended bass present. Anyone know what that could be? I hope I don't have to get them fixed, they've been problem-free for me up until now.

Edit: Occurs on multiple tracks, multiple sources, and only present in the right earphone.

No expert here and i have not heard the dn2000j. But i have read several comparisons and i do have the crk9. I think its save to say that the dn2000j is overall a lot better but also more than 300 us. Crk9 cost less than 200 us.

Crk9 , very good bass, bright treble and for me sometimes to bright. I think dn2000j and Flc 8s is on the same level. When i make a/b between Flc 8s and crk8 the difference is huge. Flc 8s is a lot clearer and more details. I think is the same with dn2000j and Crk9. If u can afford it go with dn2000j og maybe Flc 8s :)
