DAC for Dolby Digital -> Stereo?
Hey, I got my Zhaolu D1.3 and it sounds good, but I have to set all of my sources to output PCM Stereo or else I don't get any output. This isn't ideal because my sources are also hooked up to my 5.1 speakers, and for those I want Dolby Digital or DTS. Is there a DAC that can convert 5.1 digital...- HiJon89

Looking for an amp to drive HD650s
If you can go a little over $200 a used Headfive would be a good choice.- HiJon89

Gaming Headphones. Choice.
Of those three I'd definitely choose the PC160. If you're willing to get a separate mic you could also get something like the HD555/HD595. But if you want better opinions I'd go somewhere like the CAL forums, serious gamers here are few and far between.- HiJon89

Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gamming Headphones
If you want sound quality, look somewhere else. If you want excellent directional sound, give them a try. There are also a bunch of other good options in the same price range for gaming, HD555's, Icemat, PC160, etc. The main thing is to pick some headphones and get used to them. That's what I...- HiJon89

THe Next step up from my HD 555's?
If you want to stick with Sennheiser, then I'd go with HD650 + Headfive combo, should be just about $500 and sound excellent. If you want to save a little money you could go with the HD600 or HD580 instead, as they all sound fairly similar.- HiJon89

zhaolu cabling issue
If you have a toslink output and a toslink input, just use toslink. Using an adapter could cause some loss in sound quality, but it will definitely be worse than just using toslink. -

Receiever for multiple sources and outputs
Yeah, I found it was a lot easier to find a receiver with digital out for under $300 if I went back a generation or two. I got my VSX-1014TX for $240 Shipped, and it really has almost all of the features of its older brothers, the VSX-1015TX and VSX-1016TXV, except for an extra component video...- HiJon89

Receiever for multiple sources and outputs
The way I'm doing it is I have all of my sources running digital into a receiver (VSX-1014TX) and my 5.1 speakers are hooked up to the receiver. If I want to use the speakers I just press the speaker set A button on the remote and the speakers come on. For headphone listening, I just disable the...- HiJon89

Can't Find Switches on Portaphile
Well, I bought a Portaphile V^2 from a fellow head-fi'er about a week ago and I've really been liking the sound, but I want to mess with the switches to make sure they're set in the right positions for Shures. I've removed the amp from the case and I've spent about half an hour examining every...- HiJon89
