spent the weekend with the x3 in my pocket playing flac off a 64gb card (ala amazon bundle for 250US), and the ebay sourced tf10s (183 open box). so far i have no comparison to other daps, but seem to prefer the tf10 to the um3x pairing. although i CANNOT lay down with the tf10s.

if James is calling it a possibility then that is a win in my book. just need to be patient and keep my music collection growing.   the fuze v1 with RockBox is an amazing sounding little DAP - adding some level of parametric sound control to the x3 would just make it so that much more...

ummm - yep. technically tho: Fuze>E11>E12. I'm only playing with the lowest ranges on the volume knobs, and the sound is so clean and the bass very-very pronounced, thick if you will. I honestly have a hard time NOT listening to the rig now.
