USB DAC for the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 Ohm.
Alternatively maybe I could get a better amp and go straight out of my X-fi Xtreme gamer and into an amp and not get a DAC at all.- my2crazy

Ultrasone HFI-780 Appreciation Thread
I have owned my HFI 780s since August 2012. The right speaker just went dead but I am looking to get them fixed. We will see how that goes. I have seen quite a few other people with this problem. That said I have used these almost every day so they have been worth it even if I can't get them...- my2crazy

USB DAC for the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 Ohm.
I am trying to pick a DAC/AMP combination for the DT990. I use it for general purpose computer listening, music, games, movies. Portability is not particularly important. Optical in is a feature I desire so I can get my Soundblaster X-fi CMSS 3d stuff to work when I want it. I was looking...- my2crazy

Portables to replace my Grado SR80
Thanks for all the advice so far. Currently on a work trip in Okinawa but as soon as I get back to Tokyo I am going to go try these out at Yodabashi (electronics store near where I live) That seems like a great deal on the Amperior. Edit: 4/13/2014: In case anyone happens to be...- my2crazy

Portables to replace my Grado SR80
Been using my Grado SR80 for travel but they are falling apart and dont fill the portable roll well at all. I am looking for portable headphones which are durable, comfortable and sound nice. I prefer to spend around 100-150USD but I can go up to around 250 if the gain in quality is good...- my2crazy

Immersive and tight bass closed headphones
I use to have the Fiio E11. I really liked it when paired with my wife's iphone4, but when I started using my Cowon J3 I didn't really seem to get any benefit and the noise floor was slightly higher with the amp then without so I traded it away. The Cowon J3 has a pretty nice output for a...- my2crazy

Immersive and tight bass closed headphones
In case someone references this thread later. I am happy with my HFI 780s. Music sounds good especially electronica or dubstep. I use them for gaming quite a bit as well and they work fine in that role, although I havn't used any of the headphones that are commonly recommended for gaming. When...- my2crazy

Thanks for the replies everyone. I decided on the Ultrasone HFI 780. Listening to them now. So far I like the sound although some highs seem pretty intense. Will have to see how they pan out after some time.- my2crazy

I am going to head to Yodobashi in the next day or two to try out some headphones. I will be sure to seek out the Denon D600 for a sample. It's the only store I have been to that even has a case of Grados, no brainwavz though.- my2crazy

Immersive and tight bass closed headphones
I just saw the Ultrasone HFI-780 S-Logic on amazon for about 150 dollars. and the Ultrasone PRO-750 for about 180. Both way discounted from original pricing. Could these be what I am looking for...assuming I can drive them without an amp?- my2crazy

Immersive and tight bass closed headphones
I have been reading posts and reviews for hours now and I figured it was time to make a post. I have been using Grado SR-80s (not 80i) for quite awhile now and I like them, but I am ready for something new. Since my family is getting louder(kids are 5 and 7 now heh) I need something with...- my2crazy

Brainwavz B2 Impressions & Discussion Thread
So I got my Shure olives and they are more comfortable then the silicon tips and more durable then the comply tips, but not as comfortable as comply. Sound wise I think they are better then either by a bit(likely due to better fit). I am still getting a little harshness on certain letters on...- my2crazy

Cowon J3 Impressions Thread
Is it just me or does it take forever to transfer files to the J3? I transfered files to the internal memory and to the micro SD card(32gb) that I put in it and both times it seemed to take soooooo long. Maybe 5-10 minutes per GByte.- my2crazy

I imagine to get that deep you are using the comply tips? With the silicone(I think thats the material) single flange tips(the black tips that come with the B2) I cant imagine that being possible. Although I think the sound was more full sounding with the comply tips, the black tips(I use...- my2crazy

When you say tame the highs a bit, do you mean compared to the included medium sized comply tips? I am disapointed in the comply tips as far as durability goes and have heard shure olives last longer. If they tame the highs and have more isolation on top...well then they might be much better for...- my2crazy

iphone 4 sound quality
I tested out the I-phone 4 with my FiiO E11 amp and the small issues I had with the sound vanished. Although it may not be a big enough change to make it worth lugging around a portable amp. I guess it all depends on the person.- my2crazy

Right angle 3.5mm to 3.5mm cables for headphone amps
I looked around online for a cable to connect between a Cowon J3 and my Fiio amp but I couldn't find any right angle 3.5mm to 3.5mm cables that were short enough. Does anyone know where I could find one? Also, if I can't find one(and at a decent price) I might just order supplies to make my own...- my2crazy

Ipod Touch 2g vs Ipod Mini 1g vs iPod Nano 3g vs iPod Nano 2g
The Touch 2g is my main player right now and I too am looking to upgrade..Perhaps the J3. If it was cheaper for the 32 gb version I probably would have gotten it already. I have heard good things about the lod on the ipods and I currently have a Fiio E11 and lod cable coming in the mail. I will...- my2crazy
