Doubt it's a typo. I'm pretty sure, they lowered the impedance, so that it would be louder than the Beats headphones with the same settings. Degrades the sound quality of course, but who cares, right? (lower damping, the amp distorts more) I wonder if the aluminum cups have some degrading effect...

I think the RE0's key attributes are it's technical capability, and lack of subbass. The first one isn't really transferable, because if something would be as capable as the RE0, it would be as good as the RE0. And why would anyone want the second one?

Yeah, but they don't stop at that point, they want mooaaarrr. They will grow it out eventually like many of us did. Or they don't really like music at all, just partying. I'm a basshead, that now uses a K601... and I love the bass of these. :)

You can't know without trying stuff.  It can change also with experience/time. Usually the no-go for less experienced people is low bass quanity, and too much/edgy treble. So the IE is a safer choice imho. Especially if you liked the v2. To me the under $100 market is dominated by the...
