Massdrop PLUS Universal IEM
We need a list of cables that work (in one place). It's too random as is. Not cables that 'should' work, but cables that work well and are in use. list (thanks) 1) brevity cable from null audio 2) SGAudiohive Florea SPC (the one you can see in most of my photos) 3) Venture Electronics Copper...- fritz1234

Yes it's true, it's "arcane"? :D. Remember, Shure supplied their own color mods, (but they're insane so.....:D ) note: People need to just leave things alone. What is their problem? Geesh. (ok i'll stop_ :D- fritz1234

Shure SE535 or Etymotic ER4xr, sr or?
Yes, it's picky about sources which can be a PITA occasionally. No one wants hiss. The SE535 has no such issues. Of course, it's always something :D- fritz1234

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
Na, the SE846 is not bass heavy form my perspective. Your source...... Another thing. Regardless of what people say about these, they isolate like nothing else. And it's strange really; two IEMs with the same basic shape and the same tips, isolate completely differently. God only knows how...- fritz1234

Massdrop PLUS Universal IEM
People are actually making their own? Some that work, apparently (from thread): Only the Null Audio was recommended at Massdrop?: Another commenter here brought up Null Audio, they have a ~$22 USD cable with mic that should work (pick Westone/Noble/JH 2-pin termination)...- fritz1234

I would not buy an expensive cable unless it's for looks. Just my opinion. We need a list of cables that work.- fritz1234

Should I like that white cable? Convince me to like it, as it's cheesy looking :D I would imagine it's functionally very good, with microphonics and all. Any alternative suggestions? I mean, my iT01 has an awesome cable (very classy looking). Those were cheapish also.- fritz1234

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas
Sure looks like it to me. Seems pretty obvious. Don't know why people are saying there isn't. I mean, these aren't some kind mistake I would imagine ( I really am curious to see the graphs, btw). Then again, I don't know the physics. You can have acoustic suspension with intentional back...- fritz1234

SE846 Filter mod
Man this thread is awesome! :D I own these, and was meh with the filter swap thing (as I just got them recently). But THIS adds a whole new dimension to it. You guys have done some work alright. Maybe if enough of us pestered Shure they would sell custom filters. They could make some money. But...- fritz1234

Uh, that's not how I see hype working. Hype goes on for a while after delivery and gets into full swing about now :D You get the 'WoW" reviews that put it on people's radar. Then there's the wait and anticipation (very important :D ). THEN the deliveries- WOW! All the hype is true after...- fritz1234

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
What gets me about these is the dependence on source hardware. I also have the SE535 and a lot of times these sound better, as the 36ohm output impedance makes them sound good with anything. It's just strange with the SE846. I mean, most people aren't going to know. I don't mind this limitation...- fritz1234

e-infin SE846 are fake
I'd be afraid if I sent them to Shure they would confiscate them. Don't trust a corporation. I mean, what's the point? There's no profit. Having Shure authenticate them (which is unlikely) isn't going to help in a charge-back or return. They are almost certainly Grey goods anyway. But the chance...- fritz1234

Ok, just a cautionary experience. I connected these to a headphone output of a device just now. It sounded pretty bad; huge bass and weak highs. So I figured it was an impedance mismatch. Anyways, it wasn't working. Fortunately, they actually listed the impedance in the manual (for once ), 120...- fritz1234

Right, something strange about it :D Point is: The iT01 is quite an item for the price. Almost and undercut, considering you have the CA Atlas for $1200 coming out, which certainly is better, but you get my drift. Ok, so i'm off topic. The Plus is fantastic, and serves it's purpose.- fritz1234

That Earstudio is nice (thanks for the tip), but the USB 1.0 (48k/16bit) is a bit of a put off. I mean, USB 1.0? What. I'm sure the Bluetooth is good though. It's a nice device. I wouldn't think USB 1.0 would even be possible today. Geesh.- fritz1234
