Confirmed. Borrowing a dirt-cheap am/fm/cd that distorts at medium volume, sounds grainy, and has a high noise floor, but the bad FR coloration (loose bass / uneven treble that is more overdriven than sibilant) is missing from it. Phooey.

Specs have the H3 at 2g heavier than the XBA-4 (10g vs 8g) - the MDR-7550 is also listed at 8g - not sure how the shape/balance affects the pressure on the outer ear, especially with the cord attached - but the hangers ought to mitigate it appreciably.
