Do they exist? Somenone in anather thread mentioned that the high end Sony's are as good as it gets, but that the headphone output stage isn't nothing special. Just Jsut get a nicer case and line outs. What else is there?

The biggest thing keeping me away is cost. I would consider a sub $50 model. I'm not paying $250 for one though. not when I can buy a CD player for $50 and blank CDs cost next to nothing.
