Do they exist? Somenone in anather thread mentioned that the high end Sony's are as good as it gets, but that the headphone output stage isn't nothing special. Just Jsut get a nicer case and line outs.

I get better sound out of my iPod than I did out of my Sony portable--plus I don't have to carry the discs around.

Vintage PCDPs are the way to go.

Vintage players rule, but there's a BIG trade-off in portability in most cases. Plus you'll eat through batteries like crazy, so ya need recharegeables. I envy the man who has the balls to carry around his Sony D5 as a portable . . .
