DT150 vs ESW9
Based on your requirements, the DT150 would be the better choice. For a portable headphone, the ESW9 is quite good. However, the DT150 wins for a home rig. Have used both for longer periods of time, the DT150 is much more comfortable for me. As long as you do not have any reflective...- Tbln

Balanced Desktop - Power Supply
DPS below for me. Allows the amp to dissipate heat better, makes it easier to access the back panel and looks nicer as well IMO. And yes, the DPS does make a difference to me . Here are some of my thoughts on the Balanced Desktop with PSU: A new addition to the family: Headroom Balanced...- Tbln

Portable Speakers for Travel - Suggestions?
Check the X-Minimax speakers out, if you want tiny: X-Mini Capsule Speakers powered by XM-I Really portable, it gives reasonably good sound quality (forget about thumping bass though) and volume for it's size. The in-built rechargeable batteries provide up to 6 hours of playback.- Tbln

How Much Headroom Do You Own
My first real amp since discovering headphones was the Total Airhead (3 battery version). That was replaced then by the Cosmic. It has been quite along time since I owned any Headroom product but I just received my latest toy that is burning in at this moment: Desktop Balanced with DPS.- Tbln

headroom reviews: how plausible are they as basis for buying headphones?
Headroom's ratings are a reflection of their own preferences and are no different from the many differing opinions found here. Having said that, I have found their ratings to be generally consistent with my own experiences.- Tbln

Closed Headphone shootout.. which should I buy?
Another vote for the DT250. Isolates pretty well, comfortable with a warmer sound signature. Great, non-strident highs and tough build are great for the road.- Tbln

Beyer DT250 vs. DT150
Looks like you get me again. The DT250-80 has a slightly warmer sonic presentation and is more forgiving of poorer source material. The DT150 comes across as more neutral in comparison with an airier, wider soundstage. If I am not in my critical listening mood, I find it easier to relax...- Tbln

Beyerdynamic DT770-05 still kicks arse!
Have auditioned them in my own system before and found them to be even more prononced in the treble than the DT880/900 05. Little too bright for my tastes.- Tbln

SAA HD650 headphone cable repair
It would cost you an arm and a leg to have it repaired. Had a similar problem with one of my SAA cables and I was quoted about half the cost of a new one to repair (excluding shipping). -
my dt880s 600 ohm version are here!
Congrats on your new toy! I just finished a week long comparison of both the 250 (my own) & 600 ohm (borrowed) versions of the DT880. A Singlepower MPX3 SLAM and an Apache provided the necessary amplification. The 600 ohm can is relatively new, while the 250 ohm has had about 300 hours...- Tbln

Sennheiser 6xx cord polarity question
Red to the right, black to the left. Orientate the pins correctly as there is a smaller and a larger pin. If you look into the sockets at the headphone, you will notice corresponding smalland larger hole. Pushing them in wrongly will almost certainly affect the sockets on the headphone.
