In vista, when I use usb asio drivers, there is sound, but not with anything else (I tried usb4all and the default drivers that autoinstall). I don't really feel like forking over 44euros, what is wrong with my setup?

I ordered 1 week after you and received it yesterday and I live in Toronto. Weird... Anyways, does burn in work if I use preamp? I want to burn in my speakers at the same time. Will preamp burn in the amp just as well?

I just got my compass at work right now, I am wondering when I get home what should I do with the preamp to my active speakers? Should I turn my speakers to max and control them with my compass? (audioengine a5)

I used the e5 with my dt 770 250 ohms and they made a world of a difference. can't wait till my compass comes so i can test it out with a real amp. the e5's do nothing for my re2's from my sony nwz a818 though, i can't hear any difference.

At first listen they sound pretty good. I do not have an amp yet, so I am excited when my compass comes next week. Just to quench my curiousity, what will the improvements be with an amp?

I mean if rs1's cost only maybe 50 to 100$ to manufacture, couldnt grado just make up for R&D from bulk sales? I was hoping someone here knew how these things work. Not that I am upset over the large margin, I am just really curious at the economics of headphones.

Grados look extremely cheap but go up into the thousand range. This got me thinking in general, how much does it cost to manufacture a nice set of headphones?

I bought a compass for my audioengine a5's and I was wondering what headphones would work best with these things? I listen to everything except classical. I have the sr60s but don't like them as I find them a little harsh. No preference on open or closed, iem or full size.

indeed, playing from these speakers I feel that the sound is much bigger even though it might not be louder. Also, it is very detailed even without a dac, something which the a2 performed poorly without. The a2's had this distinctive detailed but small sound that came out of them. The a5's...

How do you burn in a dac? do you need it to be plugged into a source? Does the source have to be pumping music? The headphone slot is 1.4 inches and no 3.5mm right?

Well I bought the A5's and indeed they are more detailed and much bigger. A2's with my super pro dac cannot beat the a5's by themselves. I am excited for how they will sound once my compass arrives.

In the manual it says theres a control panel accessed by: Enter the control panel via the button in your applicationÕs ASIO settings What does that mean?

Turn off wireless and if it still does it its a well known wireless bug with no fixes.

Play it using an mp3 player and see if it still does it. Use another computer with the same equiptment, and check if it still does it.

controlling my a2 from the compass would be nifty, but the a2 has its own volume controls. What should I do, set a2 vol to mid or max and then control solely using compass?

I bought the compass yesterday, they said they would ship it to me in 2 weeks. I am just curious, for now I am using the compass with my active speakers (a2 soon to be a5). I will buy a hd 650 later. What does preamp do?

Ok, finally after a week and a half I was able to reach obad imports, and now it looks like I will be getting a replacement power cord to see if that fixes things, and if not then a replacement dac.
