Sony WF-1000XM4 Impressions Thread
I’ve only had my XM4s for a week, but none of the Sony hybrid foam tips were large enough for my ginormous canals. I bought XL Spinfit CP360s and CP100s, the latter as they have a slightly greater shaft length in case I needed them into my canals a bit more. The 360s gave a good seal and I found...- Jpfe8851

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
Okay, I've had my HD700s for a couple years now and while I don't listen to any headphone that often, every time I drop in the lounge and put these on I just go off with the music. They are just so nice to listen too. My music is a mix of 70s Rock, Smooth Jazz and Classical and they do them all...- Jpfe8851

AK 100 and 120 problems - please help
Let's hope so. Are the songs the same title just different versions? I usually rip multi disc albums to separate folders but occasionally I have put them in the same folder. To overcome the problem you've got, I use MP3Tag to change the track numbers of the second or later discs so they are...- Jpfe8851

AK 100 and 120 problems - please help
This isn't what you may want to hear but I've not seen any other reports that I recall and haven't had these issues. The fact you're having the same issue on a second similar device suggests something in relation to your rips. What did you use? Is there anything you can think of that makes yours...- Jpfe8851

Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
Maybe your problem... Not sure if others are all the same but to navigate through the options in RB recovery I have use the tip of my headphone plug tapped against the top outlet to cycle through them. The up/down with volume buttons does not work. Early owners of DX50s would have known this as...- Jpfe8851

Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
+1000 I absolutely echo that comment. The new CWM method has me customising my DX50 with my preferred themes. Could not get either my head nor computer around ADB! I simply attached my DX50 to my computer via USB of course, and copied the theme files from source folders into the...- Jpfe8851

Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
You and me both Karloil! I've downloaded and tried to install ADB drivers with one giving an error that it's not x64 compatible. Another I had to force the Samsung driver onto the android device but Qtadb still refuses to recognise the DX50. I think I'll just have to satisfy myself that RB will...- Jpfe8851

Gosh thanks... feel such a dope for overlooking both those posts. Completely missed the first because I didn't click the links and was at my frustrated best while quick scanning the second. Much obliged. Will have a go tomorrow.- Jpfe8851

Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
I'm grateful for this, but I'm still lost. Where do I get the correct ADB, and the right driver file. There are all these other "fixes" mentioned by headwacker and others... clearly from the other posts here I am not the only one lost. Could one of you knowledgeable people please take the...- Jpfe8851

DSD for DX 50?
Pardon me? Why can't you play the SACD rip on your DX50? My Flac rip of DSofTM SACD plays perfectly on my DX50, although clearly in Stereo only. Haven't tried the digital out though.- Jpfe8851

Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
Dumb question time... I used Rockbox on a Ipod Classic and now on my DX50. Is there no way to connect to the file system other than this totally confusing (for an old f4rt like me) adb? IIRC tha ipod just gave an option when booting to Rockbox if the cable was attached to go to the FS and...- Jpfe8851

Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
You have to tell RB through the settings which folders to scan. They are found in /mnt/external_sd. Go to: Settings, General Settings, +Database, Select Directories to Scan and navigate to /mnt/external_sd. press and hold on this folder. They are selected when you see a green arrow before...- Jpfe8851

Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
To the Rockbox team... this is so cool! Love it. Question: Is it possible to save the time and date? I know std FW lacks it and assume there is no clock in the device. Is that why the date and time doesn't stick?- Jpfe8851

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
I just want to add my perspective to the recent posts about frustrations with tagging and DAPs not functioning like we expect... Many of the issues noted and blamed on the DAP developers are in my view a little unfair. For an app to work on an Apple device for example, the app must conform...- Jpfe8851

Not at all. I still have year in some files. But I avoid date formats. 4 digit years seem fine. What I have focussed on cleaning are non-standard tags inserted by ripping software.- Jpfe8851

I should add, that the above is not the only way to go... simply, that this method works in all my iDevices, Androids and DAPs without issues. I'm sure there are other variations that work equally consistently.- Jpfe8851

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
I really don't disagree with that Matthew... spending that sort of money you expect perfection. But who said Apple's file protocol is the right one? Could it be theirs is the hybrid causing your issues? I believe it is part of the issue. Because it worked in an iPod and not in your AK100 is...- Jpfe8851

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
I'm sorry to disagree with you but the vast majority of issues like Matthew's are user related, commonly poor tagging and folder structures or lack of familiarity with the device. Mind you some decent manuals would be useful. And instead of being discouraged, quite often, including Matthew's...- Jpfe8851

Mediamonkey for Metro looks good for Windows 8/8.1
Most of my music listening is on portable players (AK100/DX100/50 are favorites). But I've purchased a new computer and returned to Windows as I wanted a tablet convertible. Settled on a Asus Taichi 21. After installing all my required apps, I turned to my music files and was disappointed to...- Jpfe8851

Different animal. Sound similar but different features. Storage, outputs, gain, USB-OTG vs USB-DAC, size, build, UI, FW, responsiveness, etc... DX represents great value but I still was missing the AK.- Jpfe8851
