Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV
I tried the mediums and large Comply fits and preferred the large ones. I liked the sound, but prefer the treble lift in the Spiral Dots. The foams collect a lot of dirt in my situation and wear down. For me, I found I can get more/less bass depending on how far I insert the IEMs.- cloudkicker

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV
From my recent experience with the cable that comes with the Vegas, switching from foam tips to the Spiral Dots increased the microphonics, so it may not be the cable. I find moving the choker up helps reduce this.- cloudkicker

Mac OS X Music Players - alternatives to iTunes
If you're streaming Is your Bluetooth device sending AptX? If not and it sends AAC only then use AAC. You can also stream/download TIDAL in non-HiFI as it's lower res is AAC and avoid the conversion to AAC to your headphones.- cloudkicker

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
My Mojo is about two years old and the battery needs to be replaced. In my case, I almost always use it where I have access to power. If the battery needs to be replaced every two years, and given the added cost to do so, maybe a Mojo 2 could be one that doesn't have a battery and requires...- cloudkicker

Sonarworks Headphone Calibration software
For me the idea of using True-Fi is to flatten the headphones I'm using so I'm not using an EQ, but for those that want to and are using a Mac there is a way to do it. I'm using Ghz CanOpener and Ghz Midside Matrix with Audio Hijack and then set True-Fi as the output device for Audio Hijack. Put...- cloudkicker

Massdrop x Focal Elex Review & Measurements
The Elex looks like it's going to be a hit for Massdrop. I bought the Elear last year new so getting the Elex is out of the question unless I feel like burning more money. I recently purchased True-Fi by Sonarworks. It flattens the curve and to could be an alternative to getting the Elex. It...- cloudkicker

I'd go with µRa. It gives the option for Spotify if you're ever interested in it, in particular if it starts streaming lossless.- cloudkicker

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV
I had the same impression with the Mojo and Vega. It sounded lifeless and flat. The Vegas sounded better with anything other than the Mojo. I then added the US Buffer Jack and it solved the problem. Maybe something like the iEMatch will work even better.- cloudkicker

CanOpener?
I was surprised to see CanOpener in the App Store this morning. Does this mean there is hope for an update? With MusicKit it would be amazing if CanOpener was updated to play tracks from Apple Music.- cloudkicker

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV
Hi All, I managed to pick up the Vegas a couple of months ago used. They have a powerful sound. The best way for me to describe them is Devialet made Phantoms for your ears, they would be the Vegas. If there is one surprise, it's how the Vegas sound with the Chord Mojo. I had been listening to...- cloudkicker

Audeze SINE Series
I wanted to bring back a topic that has been mentioned in the past. I placed an order for the Sine online but went to a local store afterward. Previously, I listened to it a few times at the Apple Store, but it's too loud to listen to it properly. The problem is the pad crunching. At the Apple...- cloudkicker

I've had this problem using AirDrop. When you do that it only plays one track in an album then stops. To get around that use iTunes to import it. If you don't use Apple Music just drag the files to the phone. If not, then you have to select the phone in iTunes then add tracks under apps.- cloudkicker

Oppo PM-1 Planar Magnetic Headphone Impressions Thread
Tough choice. I have both, only because I got the PM-1s a few years ago and recently got the Elears. The Elears are more dynamic, but makes me realize how smooth the PM-1s are as it's a planar magnetic design. One big difference is the PM-1s are portable, so if you're on the road a bit you'll...- cloudkicker

I got lucky and didn't notice the compatibility list before purchasing. I've been able to upsample to DSD 5.6 MHz to a Mojo from iPhone 6S Plus. If there is one thing I notice, iAudioGate drains the battery more than other players.- cloudkicker

Light Harmonic Geek Wave
There is no way LH Labs could win on this or any product. If we had the Wave in our hands by now we would start complaining how outdated it is. The wait has been long, but from what I can tell, the Wave is a better concept today than when it was first proposed. After reviewing my perks with LH...- cloudkicker
