The Grado SR325i Appreciation Thread!
I have had my SR325is for about 5 days and have about 60 hours of burn in time on them. When I got them, I thought they were really shrill and feared I'd made a mistake in purchasing them. However, even with the short burn-in period, they have mellowed nicely. This morning, I was listening to...- Willieboy

Your first headphones?
Mine were the Ortho-Dynamic Yamahas. I purchased them for $79 at around the time CDs were first introduced. I was the first guy on the block to get a CD player... an NAD.- Willieboy

For the most part, I listen to music I have on Media Center on my computer. From the computer I go to a FiiO E17 DAC and from the DAC to the WA6. The tubes in the WA6 are stock.- Willieboy

I received a new pair of SR325is yesterday. They are the painted version purchased from Amazon. Serial number is 18312. These are my first pair of full size Grados. I already had a set of iGrados that I like very much. The SR325is are going to take some getting used to. Everything I'd read...- Willieboy

Best "Starter" Headphones? - HiFiMan HE-400 / AKG K712 / Sennheiser HD650 / Sennheiser HD600
My first quality headphones was the HD600 and I have been very pleased with them. I voted that way, looked at the results and they seem to be the clear front runner.- Willieboy

I agree, the D2+ is a great sounding player. I've had mine for about four years and it is a favorite.- Willieboy

Rank the Headphones that You Own.
I have three sets of headphones and they are, in order of my appreciation of them: 1. Senn HD600 2. Mad Dog Generation 3.2 3. Beyer T51P I've had the Sennheisers the longest, so maybe I just became accustomed and comfortable with their sound. They are airy and crystal clear and...- Willieboy

Two new HifiMan players announced: HM700 and HM802
I have my 802 on shuffle and have an HD card plugged in containing some of my favorite jazz. When I select the 'All Songs" option, it plays the first song in the list, but then really seems to choose songs randomly. Each time I play the list, I get a the list in a different sequence, except...- Willieboy

What is the mini-box card? I don't know what a mini-box is. I had an HM801 some years ago. The sound was nice but the UI was brutal. After too short a time, it quit working altogether and, in disgust and anger, I threw it in the garbage. Good luck with your HM802. Please let is us...- Willieboy

What open-over ear headphones do you all use? and why?
I listen to Senn HD600s, an open headphone and Mad Dog 3.2s, a closed headphone. The sounds are different, but I love them both.- Willieboy

I am using the standard amp. card. The HM802 also comes with the standard HM901 amp. card but I have not used it. I'm quite pleased with the standard 802 card.- Willieboy

FWIW, I decided on the HM802. I've had it about one month and it has been a joy. Beautiful sound quality through HD600s, Bose (Non-noise cancelling) around the ear, and Etymotics ER-4s.. I've not used any other amp. The UI has been fine and is easy to navigate.- Willieboy

HM802 Initial Impressions
Well, I've had the HM802 for almost one month and it has been a joy. The sound quality has been amazing and it has performed perfectly after resolving a couple issues early on. Those issues were the result, I believe, not fully understanding the FW.- Willieboy

Speaking of Ugly Ducklings, I notice the PS500 does not seem to get too much attention. I have been thinking about getting a set of Grados and build quality, as well as sound quality are important to me. The two sets I'm considering are the PS500 and the RS1.i. There is a $100 price...- Willieboy
